Slow Pyrolysis Dominated the Wood Vinegar Market

 

The wood vinegar market is on the way of growth, and it will continue like this in the years to come as well. Wood Vinegar is a charcoal derivative. It is a dark liquid, obtained by the process of carbonization, by heating of biomass in a closed container.

The smoke, which is generated from the charcoal production is cooled into a liquid, and is additionally divided into wood vinegar, tar, and bio-oil. Wood vinegar has approximately 80%–90% water and over 200 organic compounds, as well as esters, acetic acid, methanol, phenol, ketones, and formic acid.

On the basis of manufacturing process, the wood vinegar market is divided into fast and intermediate pyrolysis, slow pyrolysis, and others. This has a lot to do with the longer vapor resistance time and slow rate of heating presented by this procedure of manufacturing.

Additionally, slow pyrolysis has a better yield of wood vinegar, char, and other products as opposed to the intermediate and fast pyrolysis approaches. It is due to this, the requirement for wood vinegar, which is produced through slow pyrolysis will also increase in the years to come.

On the basis of application, the industry for wood vinegar is categorized into agriculture, food, waste water treatment, wood tar, animal husbandry. and others. Among these, agriculture category was dominant in the past.

Because of heavy fertilizers and pesticides usage, with the intention of prevention of attack of the insects on crops, the use of wood vinegar is on the rise for agriculture usage all over the world. Tech- advancements are happening and also trending in the industry of wood vinegar.

With the fast progressions in technology, cutting-edge and better pyrolysis kiln methods are developed for producing wood vinegar, char, or biochar. The innovative and better pyrolysis methods come in handy for increasing the efficiency of the process of producing wood vinegar and also decreases the total production cost of the same.

It is because of the growing number of government initiatives for the usage of bio-based products, the demand for wood vinegar will be on the rise in the years to come.
