  Ok Larry. This is the final lesson on how to use the site. Active people here (the kind you want to meet) get many messages and some have more than 200 friends. If they just see a message from you telling them you want to meet some people, they may not know what to do next. The important step to take is yours. You will add people and ask to be their friend and thank them for accepting. You will say a few nice words to them every time you come to English Club and become their real friend.
  
  The nice talk will get you practicing English and then you will write something in your blog. You will also join groups and comment on things you are interested in and on blogs your friends have written. People who see your comment may ask to be your friend and soon you know many people and yo all help each other. it is very simple please try it and see. I hope you will join two groups i started so you can see how they work. One is called Ethical Choices and the other is about Process Industry and Tools so that almost anything can be discussed in either group.

  Now for step #2 Larry. Please read the other comment first. Continue adding friends, and it is probably better to select people who are active rather than just someone who has a pretty photo.
  You can go to my page and read what my friends have written to me. You can click their picture and go to their page and learn some more about them. i think it will be good to find some Beijing friends, but you also want to meet people from many countries too. You can have a lot of fun here learning English.

  If you are looking for some friends to speak English with you came to the right place. This club has lots of members from the mainland and most want friends to practice with.
  The way it works here is you go to someones page like I have done and below their name and where they live you click on "Add as Friend". It is that simple to do.
  On the main page where all the members are listed you can look for people in China and add them as friends. All they do is answer your friend request by accepting and maybe writing a message.
