  • Just realize that you’re not alone in your troubles. Many people are struggling in English-speaking countries as they try to master English. I know the issue with always having to look up words in the dictionary. I am always learning Spanish and I used to hate looking up so many words. I used to get so bored and frustrated with doing that. It does get better after a while. Now, after doing that for a while, I only need to look up 5% of the words. It takes time and practice.

Also try to remember that that a situation is frustrating but you feel frustrated. These two forms make everybody crazy. If a situation is depressing you feel depressed. If a teacher is boring you feel bored. If a movie is interesting, you are interested in it.
  • It is frustrating to learn a new language because it takes a lot of time before you can get all the skills you want. Just think of how children take several years to speak their own language.
It can become boring, especially if you thik you are not progressing enough. All I can say is that it is the people who continue to force themselves to learn that eventually have success. There is no easy way to do this.
Actually the English I see you using is quite good. What methods are you using right now?
  • Hi Gulnihal,
How long have you been living in the US? Where do you plan to get your MBA? I bet your English is very good.
