  I am fine. Hope you are fine as well. I also have an answer for you.
  First of all, the name of our country is The United States of America. We don't use the in the abbreviations for our country. So if you use the abbreviations US or USA, we have to use the in front of it to make our name complete. So we say the US or the USA. If we included the in the abbreviations we would be TUSA.
  Second, we are one country and many states. Our word the is used for both a singular noun or a plural noun. The 50 states form the country of the USA.
  Third, since 'the USA' is the name of one country, we use the singular form of verbs with it. The USA is in North America. The US imports cars from Asia. The United States has a new president. But we can uswe the pluural when we speak about the individual states in our country. The United States has a federal government, but the states have their own local laws as well.
  
  Also remember that we also have collective nouns that we treat like a singular. The family is a group of individuals, but we use the singular with it. The family is always changing in our society. My team always wins.
