we really miss you.
I think I understand now about computer virus. So, there's a programme that could destroy files... I thought it's just the result of wearing out. (could I use in this context?)
I read your profile and you say that we, English learners, can feel free to ask you about grammar problems we may have. OK, I´ve been a learner for more than 15 years and there´s always something new to learn !!! I have a small group of friends, we are all English teachers ( But no one of us has ever studied at the university to be a teacher !!! However, we also get jobs at several schools, because it´s really hard to find English teachers here in Colombia) and every day we talk about grammar situations. I have this one for you and the answer is, of course, for everybody at MEC :
Books "say" that for negative Tag questions we have to use the contracted form of the auxiliary word ( do, does, did, will, would ) or auxiliary verb ( am, is, are, have ,has ... ) with the adverb "not". Examples : You went....didn´t you? / Jenny works....doesn´t she? / We have finished...haven´t we?. But books NEVER show examples with sentences beginning : I am.... So, Teachers agree that "am not" can´t be contracted and I have never seen in any book " I amn´t", so, in a tag question what should I do ? Is it OK if I say :
I am a member of MEC, amn´t I ?
What if I say : I am a member of MEC, am I not ?
( I wouldn´t be using the contraction ).
One of my friends DID SWEAR he read this option on a grammar book :
I am a member of MEC, aren´t I ?
Everytime I watch TV, I pray and wait for an actor/actress who give me the answer. Now, thanks God, I found this page and I know "The light will be showed to me, won´t it?"
Thanks a lot, my friend Bill
Don't you think your computer broke down because of all the stuff in it.
I don't know much about computer but, (I think) logically at this time the function of the new one is always better but once it has reach its limit you would encounter the same problem again. You know the function will deteriorate after a period of time (wear and tear) depending on how you use the unit actually.
What I have in mind is, you just asked your son to do the purchasing for you and of course he did a little bargaining to meet your budget.
Anyway, how's your new computer Bill?
You are not alone to have connecting problem. Actually, I've been trying to get access here, but always failed to. I don't know why--maybe something wrong with my computor or the Internet service agents. Thankfully, I managed to get in by a porxy. I still have the connecting problem--it's really confusing and a little strange. I hope everything will be back on track soon (for you and me).
I hope i can improve my English in short time (if i can), i am planing to study in this year.
Is that you on the pictures. :-) :-) :-)
