I am sincerely sorry for reminding you of your teenagehood. You know, it was not on purpose. Fortunately, there were no great problems with alcohol in my family. My mom was non-drinker or smoker but died of liver cirrhosis. My father liked to have some stuff but it is regular here as well as in America. He was not an alcoholic or "a red neck" but he had never been either a husband or a father for he didn't have any idea about how to be or become that way. He was a workoholic and public man. That's all! He was good for many people, he did much for others but not for his family contrary to the most of men from my Soviet surrounding. Bev, I'd like to say that living in a "good" family like mine was not better. As a result, when they all died I felt free at last, but it was too late. I was not strong enough to resist my mother when I had to and I am very sorry about that till now. I hate to say that, but that is the truth. "Thanks" to my mom, I don't have my own children. All my men were too bad for her. So, I adopted my cousin niece when her mother died. Her father was an alcoholic and I don't even know if he is still alive. If I hadn't done that, she would have been send to an orphanage(? I am not sure in this word). Masha is my foster daughter. She is 24 and she got married 2 years ago. My son in law ina last romantic as I say. You can see them both in my pictures.

My nick on Skype is: TGOSHKA. It is strange that you were the first to add me as I hadn't told you my nick. However, many EC members know it. The time difference between California and Kiev is 10 hours. When do you usualy come on Skype?

Dear Bev! Excuse me for not answering at once as I usually do. Being a teacher you do know that we have obligations as to teaching our students. The end of May and June is the time for different exams and my students keep me very busy. I have had only two lessons today,so I don't feel really tired. If it were not that hot, it would be great! Anyway, we don't live in caves in Kiev and still have running water to refresh :)

Bev, I talked to Sasha and asked him to add you on Skype. He is really happy but is still shy :)! Thanks for adding me. I will be happy to talk to you especially since a have a few questions to ask. You see, during ten last years I've visited the USA twice a year but I haven't staid there long enough to find out the answers. I would appreciate your advices very much

Dear Bev! Hi! It is very nice to know that your step-children work in the Judicial System. I completely agree that it is too early to let 18 year old children live on their own. They are not ready, yet. I remember myself at that age: I was just an unexperienced teen and needed both financial and mental support. I was a single child in a good, well-secured family that belonged to the Soviet upper class and I was just spoiled with attention, care and ability to get whatever I wanted. At that age I couldn't imagine that my parents could stop supporting me financially. However, I preferred to be taught life by those who were not my relatives. I was lucky that my first scientific advisor and, later boss, turned out to be smart enough to teach me not science only :)! I owe him so much! It was he who taught me everything I am now. We are still friends although I left the University about 20 years ago. Isn't it strange? I have always believed my boss much more then I believed my parents. Perhaps, you know what parents' selfishness is.

When my dad died being rather young, my mom started terrorizing me and treating me as if I had been her personal slave! It is because of her crazy love I was married 4 times. She got me even in America and made me return. If she didn't like Dave, I have no idea what son-in-law she wanted!

I am telling you my life story just to say that, on the one hand, 18 year old teens are not ready to live on their own, but on the other hand, when teens stay too long with their parents, parents' love may become killing. I am really glad it didn't kill me! But I was just lucky.

Bev, thank you very much for your friend's reply ! I am sending it to Sasha now. He needs to learn the art to be deaf among hearing but to be equal. He will present his diploma at the end of June. However, I will be very thankful if you write him a few words. He is a very sensitive guy. I don't know his Skype iD, but I will tell you tomorrow.
