Here are a differences among -chan, -san, and -kun !!
Basically, chan and kun contains familier feeling. You can use them for close friend, younger person than you. chan is for female, kun is for male.
Regarding san, you can use it for both female and male. San contains more respective feeling than chan and kun. So if you call not-familier person, or elder person than you, you can put "san" after her\his name!!!
