Something you should try. Tanya's recipes

I can't tell you the origin of this dish but it is very delicious, especially for those who like fish.

Ingredients:

Potatoes: 2 pounds (about 1 kg)

Any fish: about 2 pounds

Onions: 1-2 heads

Mushrooms: about 300 g.

Any spicy cheese: about 200 g. (about half a pound)

Mayonnaise: a few table spoons

How to cook:

1. Fry fish, potatoes, onions and mushrooms separately.

2. Lay everything in the frying pan or any other thing you can put into an oven (potatoes, onions, mushrooms, fish on the top).

3. Add about 1/2 glass of water, a few bay leaves, some pepper and put it into oven at about 200 degrees C for about 25 min.

4. Take it out, spread  mayonnaise on and cheese it.

5. Put into oven again for 5 min or so.

Tastes delicious and looks great! Sure, you should salt everything.

If you try, you won't be disappointed!

Enjoy!

  • Sweetheart!  I haven't seen this post, yet. Well, you know how I like this cake! It is so delicious with any berries, but most of all, I like it with cranberies.  They taste so special in combination with brandy. I wish you didn't dilute brandy with any juice (smile!), but you are a great Chef and my Boss. Thanks for spoiling me with your unbelivably delicious dishes from time to time.

    • You are welcome, dear!

  • Wow! I am impressed from the picture! I want to put my hand into the screen and take the cake, haha! The recipe it seems little difficult to me. I have never used gelatin, i don't know even where i can find it. However i should try it one day. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe Tanya! Btw, i think it should be better if you create a discussion for each recipe. :)

    • Dear Elen! Thanks for your great comment! I  have already started my own group with the same name. This group seems not to be active at all. Hope, you will join me there.

       As to gelatin. It may be any jelly fixer like JellyFix, ArtiFix or any other. This recipe is not easy to do but  the praise you get is worth investing some efforts! (Smile!)

    • Tanya, i didn't find the group that you say. Anyway, i just uploaded a recipe in the other group about cooking that i am member. If you want to read it, here it is:

    • Dear Elen! I did start the group, but it seems not to be approved. It is of no matter as I like "EC Cooks". Why to start the same group again? I will try to "drag" my recipes there. Thank you for the link. And I like your orange cake, I will try! Thank you!

      Have a nice day!

    • Dear Tanya, i am glad that you liked my recipe. But it seems that, that group is also inactive, probably i will leave it. Have a nice day too!

    Dear ladies! I’d like to share the recipe of this cake with you. It is a very tender delicious cake and my husband likes it very much although it is not really sweet. But you can make it as sweet as you like. So, if you like the picture,  here is the recipe for 28 diameter baking tray.

    The dough.

    Ingredients:

    Condensed cocoa – 640 g;

    6 eggs:

    Flour – 5 very full table spoons;

    Leaven – 2 full tea spoons;

    Some vanilla.

    I believe you know how to make such dough. First, you should break the eggs into some bowl and mix them until you see the foam. Then, add cocoa, leaven, vanilla and mix again. You can use either a blender of a mixer. At the end, add the flour and mix it with a spoon or a spatula.

    Cover your tray with parchment for baking and pour the liquid dough into it. Set the tray into the middle of the oven heated up to 180 C. Keep it there for 25 min without opening and when you turn the oven off, wait for at least 15 minutes before taking the tray out.

    In the meantime, you can make berry jelly. You can choose any berries you like. As to my family, we prefer rather sour fragrant berries like raspberries, blackberries, currants, cranberries or any combination of them. Last time I used raspberries and blackberries.

    Ingredients:

    About 400-500 g of berries;

    Sugar (its amount depends on berries) – 2 full table spoons for the sour berries;

    Gelatin (or any other natural jelly fixer) – 2 table spoons.

    First, you wash and blend berries with sugar until you get the solid liquid. Then, you pour that liquid into a small pan and start heating it at a very low temperature on the stove stirring all the time. Sure, it should boil. When the berry syrup becomes denser, turn off the heat, let it cool a little, but just a little and add the gelatin. Mix thoroughly and put it into the freezer for about 15-20 min. In the freezer it should become very dense, like a jelly. Then it is ready.

    When your biscuit is ready and cool, take it out of the oven, cut it across and leave it to  cool completely.

    You also need to water your biscuit with something for it not to be dry. I usually use the  mixture of brandy and some juice.

    When everything is cool, you should put the jelly on the bottom part of the biscuit and spread it all over, cover it with the other part of the biscuit and put it into the fridge.

    Meanwhile, you can make chocolate icing.

    Ingredients:

    Butter – 25 grams or so;

    Cocoa powder – 3-4 full table spoons (it depends on the size of your cake);

    Sugar – 1 table spoon;

    Water (or milk) – 2-3 table spoons.

    To make it, you should use a small pan. First, add the water, boil it and add the sugar, it must dissolve. Then add the butter and stir all the time. Then add cocoa, spoon by spoon and don’t stop stirrring until you see the solid liquid. Try it, add sugar if you like, cool it down, but just a little and cover your cake with it. Decorate it with berries and put it back into the fridge as soon as you can. In half an hour your cake will be ready  to be eaten up if there are any men around!

    Dear ladies! I know it is not one of my “easy-made” recipes. But my EC friend Anny asked me to post it as she would like her hubby to bake it for her. So, why not?!  When I get to the kitchen on the weekend, my hubby always helps me peeling, cutting, washing dishes and so on.  Who said that it is a woman who has to cook? It may be different. Everything depends on us, girls!

    Try this cake, you will like it and your men will ask you to bake it time and again!

  • Mmm... It sounds and looks yummy. I like to use yoghurt in the food. You say that the yoghurt have to be warm. What do you mean? In room temperture?

    • Hi, dear Elen! Yoghurt should be warmer, about 40-45 C. I warm it up in the microwave at about 450 C for less than 1 min. Water should be the same temperature. But not hot. Nothing should be either hot or cold. An egg should be of the room temperature. When you make any yeast dough, all ingredients should be rather warm and there shouldn't be any draft in the kitchen. This dough isn't afraid of the draft but needs rather high temperature in the kitchen (above 25 C). When I make any yeast dough, I turn off conditioning and turn on the oven.

      I also use other stuffing for my pizza. Best of all, I like the one with smoked or salted salmon or trout, black olives, tomatoes, fried mushrooms, some dill and sweet pepper. I will post the picture and recipe when I bake it.
