Since there were some problems with the new strategy of this month that there are three winners of each word, there were many suggestions I’ve got from your side. Majority of members had shown their agreement to moderate answers by their suggestions in order to avoid copied answers. I checked if this process possible in groups by myself but it seemed not. So I created a discussion in technical help asking about this issue. I wanted to be sure if I can moderate comments or not. I waited for their answer. Finally, I got an answer from Miss. Benwell says “I've looked into this and it doesn't seem to be possible. You can turn comments off but not moderate them. Sorry Skoon.” I felt disappointed somehow because I liked the idea of moderating answers. Now I suggest an idea. Since it’s possible to moderate blogs – blog which is out of a group – but not discussions – discussion which is in a group –, I’ll post a new word everyday as a discussion and as a blog too. I’ll turn off comments in a discussion to not let anyone answer there but I’ll include the link of the blog which you can answer. Your answers will not be shown there because they are in moderation. Posting the word as a blog will make other member who doesn’t know about our group and its challenge join. There are three winners everyday but there is only one winner at the end of this month. The word will not be posted at specific time because the time is not on my hand. Some days I cannot post the word at its time for personal reasons. The word can be posted at morning, afternoon, evening, or night. My idea here is to post the word at different time to give all members the chance to get a score.I hope you like this strategy. Waiting for your suggestions. Specific thanks to anele, Ensie, and DG for thier helpful sugguestions.Skoon
You need to be a member of MyEnglishClub to add comments!
I just editting the discussion of November's Scoreboard everyday but yes without announcing the winners here. I just announce them in the blog. I'll annonce them here too. Thanks for reminding dear anele !
Before, the object of your game was somewhat similar to "first come, first serve" basis. This only benefits one person. But the rule that considers 3 persons to win a point a day will benefit at least three persons. These three persons do not necessarily be the same persons each day. Thereby giving more others a chance to win.
Before, when participants saw someone posted an early answer, they usually dropped disappointing comments. Others who would like to join would no longer do so because of this concept "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE". But with moderation, the game does not generate disappointing comments. And everybody can join with the perception that he might be the first to give the answer since he has no idea of how many members have already joined.
Hope this will help you form your rules for this month's game.
Dear Skoon,
I am going to post here my previous suggested rules. These covers not only the moderation of the answers but giving a fair play to everyone who will participate any day within the month of November. But, if others come up with a good solution, which I hope everybody will suggest, then it would be better because you will have better choices.

Here are my suggested rules for this contest:
1. A question will be posted any time of the day.
2. From the time the question appears, all entries will be accepted in moderation.
3. Entries will be published as soon as the three correct answers are generated.
4. The contest ends for a day when Skoon announces the three winners.
5. At the end of the month, the person who gets the highest score will be declared the winner.

From the first entry (does not mean the correct entry) to that last third correct entry...........These are the only names that will be posted. This will make the game challenging since a winner at the end of the month will be unpredictable.
The winners of every word are not limited. That’s mean everyone who answers correct will get a score. The period of answer’s time is until the next word is posted
If this strategy will not change, a winner by the end of the month will surely be Duece if she does not fail to give the correct answer a day..........anyone who will join in the middle of the month will be having a hard time getting even with the scores of those who have joined at the start of the game. Do you agree with me Deuce? What do you think Ensie and Skoon?
yes you are right anele. I didn't think about this before ! So what's the good strategy for this issue? Shall I consider the first three correct answers as winners ? or who will answer in the first one or two hours will get a score ? I need to hear from your side. Waiting for suggestions from all of you !
