up in the air: undecided about sb or sth; uncertain about sb or sth 

Examples:

 

1. It might rain later, so our plans for the picnic are up in the air.

 

2. Our trip to Poland is still up in the air. We are not sure we'll get our visas in time.

    My brother's plan about studying abroad is up in the air, so I don't want to have a hope about going with him.
