One-of-a-kind

Hello everyone,I would like to share a phrase that I learned from a magazine as follows.One-of-a-kind: that means unique or specialExample: If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind dress, you might find it in this department store.PS: Please do remember that if there is no noun after the phrase, it's no need to add the hyphen between the words like the following sentence.Example: Many people think that Michael Jackson's dressing is one of a kind.Hope it's useful for everyone and please do comment if there is any problem. Also, please try to make your ownsentence so that this phrase could be 100% inputted to your mind.Have a good day.Grace

  • Hello Frank,
    Thanks for your comment.
Since the English teaching magazine did teach us the usage above, so you think it's not necessary to add hyphens in any situation, don't you? Or it depends on personal habitual use. Please kindly tell us.
    Thanks in advance.
  • Grace, I have never seen "one of a kind" used with hyphens.

In the second example, the (understood) noun is "dressing".
