Hi everyone! This month I am going to ask a big favour of all of you! In a few weeks, I am going to be doing a presentation about EnglishClub's Listen To News resource. I am going to show teachers how their learners can use this resource to practise listening, reading, writing, and speaking. During my presentation, I will show some examples of how MyEC members use this resource. We have some very creative learners and teachers, and I can't wait to show off your work! Teachers from around the wor

There are a large number of lists, I would like to change in my hometown. If we go through a scale of preference, the education is at the top of all. As there are two main resources, development of a country depends on, natural resources and human resources. How much the country is enriched with natural resources, but they, without human resources, may not be utilized properly. How can human resources be enhanced? Population should be equipped with quality of technical as well as academic educat
What is interesting in your life?
Do you want to be kind and gentle to everyone around you? Do you love reading? What's kind of books do you want to read?
Have ever you been in an adventure Journey?
The beauty of the heart
is the lasting beauty:
its lips give to drink
of the water of life.
Truly it is the water,
that which pours,
and the one who drinks.
All three become one when
your talisman is shattered.
That oneness you can't know
by reasoning
Dear Captian,
Today I went to do some volunteer work in a gerocomium with my classmates under my teacher's leadership.
I helped a grandpa massage his painful neck and listened to him. He has a son who lives abroad. He told me his son had asked him to live with them for many times since his wife passed away two years ago. But he refused. His son is an engineer and has married a foreign girl. So grandpa Lee doesn't want to interfere in their life. Yet he misses his grandson so much.
I think he is lon
This story is somewhat late in it's posting because my own thoughts and emotions needed to compose it properly. Honestly, It should have written it more than a few days ago. At least it's still September.
Our good EC friend (Helen) inspired me to finally write it.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, I was awakening to a fresh cup of coffee and simply watching the news before the day's work began here in California. Suddenly, it was interuppted by breaking reports that New York City was exploding
Today, while rummaging through the drawers of my desk, I came across this witty grammatical pun:
We’ll begin with box; the plural is boxes,
But the plural of ox is oxen, not oxes,
One fowl is a goose, and two are called geese,
Yet the plural of moose is never called meese.
You may find a lone mouse or a house full of mice,
But the the plural of house is houses, not hice,
The plural of man is always men,
But the plural of pan is never pen.
If I speak of a foot, and you show me two feet,
And I give you a b
Writing Prompt: The first conditional is used to talk or write about real possibilities in the future. Review the rules for using first conditionals. Then pretend you are a parent who wants his or her kids to be behave for their grandparents on the weekend. Write a note to your kids. Offer some bribes for good behaviour.
Dear Baobao and Beibei,
Be good for your grandparents this weekend. If you are obedient to them, I'll continue my last story which you want to know the end for a long while. When
Dear Captain,
My roommate got a pet last Saturday from the street. It is a homeless dog. They named it "Halo".
Halo is getting stronger than before because they feed it with a lot of food. I admit it is a smart boy, as handsome and clever as Jingjing's dog. Its hair is so white, its tongue is so long, and its tail is so perky. Once see it, I will think of Jingjing.
At the beginning of this year, Jingjing got her dog from her daddy's friend. She loves it so much. She said except me that dog was her
There is a stereotype that takes for granted that a native speaker is by nature the best person to teach his foreign language. This assumption leaves little room for non-native teachers. But non-native teachers have some advantages which should be taken into account and they can make effective TEFL teachers.

‘How can you claim to teach English when it’s not even your own language?’
In India, especially in Kerala (a state of India), people use the word headweight to mean 'arrogance'. But in real English, (in British English or American English) you will not hear or see such a word. Even in dictionaries you will not see this word. This word was coined by some Keralite by word-for-word translation of the Malayalam word (Malayalam is the native tongue of Kerala) thalakanam. In Malayalam thalakanam means 'arrogance'. Thala means 'head' and kanam means 'weight'.
When Islam rose up in arms in self-defence, Ibn Rawahah provided his service in all the battles: Badr, Uhud, Al-Khandaq, Al Hudaibiyyah, and Khaibar.
His perpetual slogan was these lines of poetry,
"O my soul, death is inevitable,
so it is better for you to be martyred."
He shouted at the disbelievers in every battle,
"O disbelievers, get out of my way.
My Prophet has all the excellent qualities".
The Battle of Mu’tah started, and, as we have mentioned, he was the third of the Commanders after Zaid
This is my old blog being republished here without any major changes, to add it in my blogs list. I am telling it to you for this reason that you may not be confused whether writing challenge of this month is my keychain or I have a dream(^_^)
WRITING CHALLENGES: MY KEYCHAIN
After dinner, I was lying on my bed and was falling asleep. Before going bed, I always put my key-chain on the table near to my bed. However, that time, it reminded me a writing challenge of this month given by the teacher, Ta
Dear Captain,
It has been a coon's age that I lost my dreams at night. But last night I had a weird dream. I can't tell it is a good one or not.
I remembered I was at a wedding. Whose wedding? I've no idea, maybe mine? I didn't know any of the guests who were at the wedding. I only knew myself. I didn't see the groom though, so I am not sure if I know him.
I guess the reason why I had such a dream is because Fay's wedding is close. But I also get an inspiration from the dream. I am decided to marry
Dear EC Members,
Though Noora is no longer a member of MyEC, I am sure many of you still remember her and her blogs. A little update I received today from her sister; 23 September 2013, Noora will be undergoing a lung transplant. I don't know the details and where she's going to have the transplant in Indonesia or Singapore. Her sister asked that all of you to pray for her. Therefore, just keep your prayers for our little sister Noora, and may she stay strong.
Thank you.
