HAND PULLER RICKSHAW

Most of us know about hand puller rickshaw. It is a mode of human powered transport by which a runner draws a two - wheeled cart which seats one or two people.

Around 1880, hand puller rickshaw appeared in India, first time in Shimla. And then later introduced in Kolkata (Calcutta, India).

Though, in recent times the use of human powered rickshaw has been discouraged or outlawed in many countries due to concern for the welfare of rickshaw workers and have been replaced by cycle and auto rickshaw.

This coming 31st August 2014, we Malaysians are 57 years old. Well, actually the country is much older than that, if taking into consideration that one of the oldest rainforests (130 millions years old) is in Malaysia, but it is 57 years of independence from the British rules. In the spirit of being independent, I want to share with all of you something unique, weird and quirky about Malaysians. In fact I've written a similar subject in my previous blog; Only In Malaysia, but in this blog I want

Pollution is now one of the world's biggest problems, especially in developing countries, such as China. The economic growth may be to blame. With the rapid economic growth, China is now the second largest economy in the world, and at the same time pollution, a byproduct of the development, has accompanied the growth to come. People are now so familiar with the environmental pollution, such as air or water pollution - the sky is no longer blue; the rivers aren't clear any more.

I want to know why......

This is a site whose aim is to help us  learning English , so it is supposed that we are just for the sake of learning English and nothing more. Therefore, we are not here to make friendship , even though it can happen. So, we are not  obliged to give much  more attention to the people we talk to either their names, age, family members, job or any personal details especially if we dont like to talk about it.The problem is that many people dont appreciate that privacy we want to have.

This summer Russian Duma (i.e.,parliament) has issued some mind-boggling edicts banning manufacturing, import, sale and wear of lacy underwear, high-heeled and heeless footwear on the territory of the Customs Union. What does it mean? Back to the USSR or clinical insaness? Is it nostalgia for  the past (on the left) or Kremlin wants to dress Russia in the uniform (brown color with the swastika will be the best choice!)?

Is it really possible for any government to interfere in private life of its

2346880167?profile=originalHave you heard of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals? In the year 2000, at the Millennium Summit, leaders from around the world identified 8 of the world's biggest problems. They set a goal of fixing these problems in 15 years.

I went to NBI office (NBI- National Bureau of Investigation, similar to FBI in United States) to get my clearance.

Little Things (including some idioms)

To kiss mom from no reason, to make breakfast for partner, to create some toy for kid or to donate old clothes to charity - these little things essentially reflect our character and prove we have some will to warm the cockles of someone's heart (idiom = to provide happiness, warm sb's heart).

To come up with the excuse like: "I am as poor as a church mouse" (idiom = I don´t have enough money, I am poor) is just something ridiculous since for instance to pluck the flower is the question of few sec

This is the third installment of my Northern Adventures' blog. It took a bit longer to be written because I was not too happy with it, and I had been re-writing it a few times. Though I am still not too happy with it, I decided to just let it be, and post it.

Day One

Day Two

Day Three and Four

Our last day in Langkawi was a bit mess-up. After leaving our luggage at the left luggage storage in the Jetty Kuah Point, we went to Pekan Kuah to do a bit of shopping. Langkawi Island is a duty free island,

Why did king kill palmist ? (edited)

Hello there again

Note: One thing I forgot to add on this blog that not to speak of believing in palmistry, even showing palm to the palmists in regard of knowing your future is strictly prohibited in Islam. Thank you so much!

There was a king, who was curious to know about his future,  called upon a palmist at his palace so that he could know his future life. The palmist was uncouth. So, he, after looking at lines of his palm, told him, but so rudely, "Your all family will be died except you".
