The film was only based on the book. Of course, there were such things as Alice, Wonderland, but the story was changed. The movie ended by the last fight between Alice and a dragon. If you've read the book and I'm wrong correct me, but I don't remember any fights in it.
Anyway, I love this movie and I think it wasn't the last time I've seen it.
