The Second Blog

Have you looked at the blogging statistics on MyEC lately (see Monthly archives)? We have more bloggers than ever. I am always very proud when I read a 1st blog by a new member. Sometimes it is only one or two lines. Taking this first step is very important! You should feel very proud. Guess what makes me even happier? You guessed it. The second blog! Many people stop blogging at #1, but I hope you aren't one of them.

In your second blog you can tell us more about yourself. Try answering these questions:

1. Why did you join MyEC?

2. Why are you learning English?

3. What aspects of language learning do you need to work on most? (listening, writing, etc.)

4. What special interests do you have?  (maybe a commenter will suggest a group for you to join in MyEC)

You can also blog about a topic that you are passionate about. Share an opinion about a current event in your country. A blog post does not have to be long. You can write one short paragraph!

Here are some more ideas for blog topics: I don't know what to blog

So, here's a challenge for you:

1) If you've never written a blog post, write a short one today. (share a link below after you write it)

2) If you've only written one blog post, write a second one. (share a link below after you write it)

3) If you've written many blog posts, share a link to your second one in the comments below.

Can you guess what my favourite number is? #2!

PS-It takes two to blog!
If someone leaves a comment, write a comment back. If no one leaves a comment, invite a friend or moderator to leave one. You can always ask me if I don't see your post. I wish I could comment on every post! I'm thankful to all of the bloggers on MyEC who leave comments. I sincerely hope that no blog is left behind.

  • Dear Tara, congratulations! Being invited to IATEFL is great! MyEC is already world famous but I hope after the conference our international family will be much bigger.

You are right that there are more and more bloggers nowadays. People prefer reading blogs to books. But blogs have also positive points. They help people express their thoughts and share them with other bloggers. For some people it is like a diary, for others it is a way of communication. And it is a good way to learn English like in MyEC which gathered lots of people around the world with different levels of the language. And it is very helpful because everyone can improve his or her knowledge of English. I think it doesn't matter how good you know it, a foreign language has no limits in leaning and there is always something new for everyone.

I am an EFL teacher and I love English and enjoy teaching it. I am here in MyEC because I find it very useful as you can find everything for teaching and studying. You can learn first, try yourself in blogs and even to talk to someone. It's amazing!

I am ready to ready to help everyone who needs help. :)
  • Wow Nafis! That is amazing! If you can blog about your MyEC blogging experience, I can share this good news at the upcoming IATEFL conference. I really hope you can reach your TOEFL goal.
  • Dear Tara, after reading your blog, I checked how many blogs I have written since January 2009 and It's been 67 blogs. It's not a bad number and I hope I'll write more. I could get 21 on the writing section of TOEFL, which I 'll improve it hopefully. I must get 25! it's getting bloody difficult! I'll, like Anele, put this blog for newbie. Thank you so much!
  • i like to read short blogs and knowing each one opinion and somtimes if i want get more opinions i write question in blog and all friends give their Idea how they think about it so that will open our mind and give us new Idea about it , so guys keep writing blogs i love it ..
  • Very nice reminder Tara, and a useful tip for new bloggers.

Every time I log in,I visit the blog section as well apart from My Page,to check out new and interesting posts.I adore reading and commenting blogs( and sometimes writing too:)-I've just realized, that I had written 18 blogs so far in 2011(not to mention the group discussions)...and it's just March, but unfortunately lack of time is my biggest enemy.

I also remember how I was afraid to write my first post, but getting positive feedbacks from nice EC members gave me a greater source of confidence and I slowly kept writing.

I try to read  and comment my friends new posts at least,it is big deal indeed,as they are many.

In the future I will take care of blogs without any comment too, when I log in.

    Thank you Tara!
