My village is a village with various ethnics live in. There are many ethnics such as Bataknese(the local ethnics), Javanese (mostly their parents come from java island), Niasnese (from Nias island),Padangnese (from West Sumatera)and others. The blend of these ethnics culture makes there is no prominent ethnics in my village. Even many child don't know their traditional language. Every parents in my village used national language (Bahasa) to their child. And all the people use Bahasa to speak to the neighbor so nobody use the traditional language. I am as a Bataknese, I don't even know Batak language. My parents never use Batak language to talk to me.
If no one use this traditional language. No one from the next generation will knows about their traditional culture, and it will be vanish someday. Various culture can riches the culture if all the people care about their tradional culture but it can make the culture vanish if no one use and care about it.

Hello Adnan..
Thank you for reading my blog ^^
Hi Idealist...
thank you for reading my blog. and thank you for sharing your opinion.
^^
Hi Expector Smith..
yes, my national language is Indonesian. here call it with Bahasa.
Language is the media we use to communicate. In my village, we have so many ethnics. so, if we want to communicate with other ethnics we have to use the language that everyone know. that's why people do not use the traditional language. here, in my village everybody use Indonesian (Bahasa).
i think we do not have to insist the children to speak traditional language. we can use the traditional language at home, with all the family member. so they can learn by doing. English is one of the most important language, because most of the people in the world use this language. it is good to the children to know this language. but they don't have to forget their own traditional language. they can speak the language that they had learned according to the partner they speak to.
should we let them speak our own native language and at the same time teach them English or any other most widely spoken language in the world?
yes, i think so.
^^
thank you for reading my blog
first, i just though this is a blog describe your beautiful village, such as sights, culture, etc.
but, it extends a hot topic, the traditional languages are dispearing now~
i used to read a blog <If strong concern of English learning will harm society and culture in your local country>, of course, this article discuss that english has been dominated in some local countries and people emphasize english even more than their tongue language, that results some local language degenerated. hmmm, The topis differ with yours, but have some similar points.
Language means linguistics, but also sort of culture, even self-identify.
In china, we also face such problems, our cherish abundent languages of minority nationality are fading away..... how pity it is !
Nice writing!
You know, actually, Tara was trying to know whether your national language was Indonesian.
It's a good topic : whether should we insist our children speak our own native language? Imagine it when all the children in your village speak English? Or rather, should we let them speak our own native language and at the same time teach them English or any other most widely spoken language in the world?
