Recently I was reading a book about how to enrich your (one’s) vocabulary , how to make it better in all aspects (in pronunciation, spelling, etc) and some ideas /thoughts came into my mind, as if I have thought about them long ago but couldn’t find the proper words to express them, now I think I’m ready to share some of them with you. Please write your comments on whatever mistakes you’ll find here, or on anything else you think right to express yourself in my blog!

 Treat a new word as a new boy/girl-friend,you will see what miracle you may achieve

In my opinion , if you ‘’see’’ a word , you should think about it, then you should look it up in the dictionary, pronounce it, spell it react to it in a variety of different ways –then this new word is yours.

The same may happen to a boy , whom you want to make yours as soon as it’s possible. You see him, you fall for him, you should start thinking of him, then you look  for  some good and  bad qualities of his character (like you find the adjective, or the noun or the verb of a new word, or its synonyms, antonyms) then you like to pronounce his /her name , you try him (you spell him J) in different situations (contexts) , you compare him to other guys, like to make use of a new word in the contact of other words, you talk to him day and night (the repeated and frequent use of the new word), you get used to these new phenomena, then he is yours .No one can ever take them (the new word and then new guy ) from you!

How to make the new words come alive

‘’The secret of successful vocabulary building is repetition . To add  a new word to your vocabulary so that it really  sticks there-permanently, unforgettably, usefully-you must see or hear that word in many different contexts and in variety of different forms’’ Once you come across with a new word you should try to make steps toward getting on friendly terms with that new word.You will have to make it part of your ‘’recognition  vocabulary’’ . You must develop an active attitude towards  that new stranger by using in every possible way ‘’ .
