A quick review about tonight's study content. The first one is the demonstrative determiner. As "demonstrative" means to make something clear, it is obvious that its function is to make the following content more clear. For example, I will go shopping on the weekend. But it is ambiguous to know the exact date. After replacing "the" with "this", you will know immediately that it refers to the closest weekend.
