Expector's Voice

Hi everybody,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Can you hear me? Do you like my voice? Does it sound a little Chinglish? I don't think I've got a nice voice, though. I even hate my voice - many people do. This is the first time I've ever uploaded such a record - I decided it was time for me to make my voice heard the other day. I hope you can follow suit, make your voice heard, and practice spoken English.

Christmas Day isn't a holiday here, so we don't take any days off work or school. But, Christmas is getting more popular here, and people do celebrate it every year by shopping around, having a Christmas Eve party, or eating out with family or friends in the evening, no matter whether they are Christian or not. Children here don't expect any surprise gifts from their parents on Christmas Day. However, they'll get plent of them or even 'red envelops' (with money in it) on Chinese New Year's Eve. Sound like fun?

Oh, I'll try to sing part of a famous song of English:

Do you like to sing English songs? Or you can sing a song for us in your mother tongue. Let's learn English by 'using our mouth'. You are not supposed to learn ‘dumb English’.

'Dumb English' means you can read or write in English, but can't speak it - 'deaf and dumb'. You know, in some country, students need to pass the 'paper test' but not 'speaking test'. So, the students may be good at grammar, but not be able to speak it fluently. I hope you get it. By the way, I like to listen to your recording.

I heard a lovely voice on your page and I thought it was yours. I know you can speak several languages. So it's no problem for you to speak English. I look forward to your recording!

Dear Expector, your voice is great. I also hate my voice but I can bear it..hahahaha..You also sing very well. It's really difficult to keep the rythm. I like singing but I don't have a good voice..hahahaha. have you seen Karaoke group? Maybe I 'll try..hahahaha...What is dumb English?

@Rabab: Yes, you all can do it. Don't be shy or afraid of sounding strange. With more practice, your speaking skills will improve. I'm looking forward to hearing your voice.

@DM: Your suggestion sounds good. Yes, we need more practice to sharpen our speaking skills. I'm not familiar with Skype, though.

NoTears : I have suggession for you , try to find maybe 5 girls and try to make schedule and chose a topic and talk on skype , but before you have to prepare your topic in order to not stop talking or dont find what you will say , that way you will improve your english speaking , I am talking from my experiance here on EC with my EC freinds on skype and i can see how it so helpful try it and tell me
