There is a shop that sells men for women who are looking for husbands. At the door shop it is written:" you can only enter this shop once" and once you go upstairs, you may not go downstairs unless to leave the shop."The shop has 6 stories which in each storey has the men specifications group that can be chosen and bought as husbands.A woman enters the 1st floor. It read1st floor:" In this group you'll find men that have jobs and faithful."The woman smiles and goes on the 2nd floor which is written:2nd floor:" In this group you'll find men that have jobs, faithful and love children."The woman continues on to the 3rd storey....3rd floor:"In this group you'll find men that have jobs, faithful, love children and very cute."Wow....but her curiousity makes her go on.....4th floor:"In this group you'll find men that have jobs, faithful, love children, very cute, and very helpful with the house chores."Oh My God.....this is almost too good to be true, she cried. She goen on to the next storey....5th floor:"In this group you'll find men that have jobs, faithful, love children, very cute, very helpful with the house chores and very romantic."She is tempted to stop and buy one man here, but she couldn't stop heself to step to the next storey....where she finds....6th floor:"You are the 4.363.012 visitors. There are no men in this storey. This is the prove to those who never satisfied."quoted from cybermq.comfreely translated by flying unicornWhat do you think about this? and is there any lesson from this?
I totally agree with Nafis and Salim and I know that "The best is oftentimes the enemy of the good". We want to choose the perfect-but look at the result!
This story... is a good one.... the lesson? Its good to know what you want at every point so you do not miss out on a golden opportunity by being too greedy or too curious!
Thank you Hardi, though i am not sure what you mean.
Nafis and Marsha, thanks for your comments. and i couldn't agree more with you both. People are greedy and can be ungrateful till they lose what the chance they've got.
I think this is totally true. Instead of thanking God for what we have, we always think of what we do not have and during the lifetime, we are looking for and struggling for what we do not have and at the end of our life, we start thinking that we made a huge mistake. But, it is too late to start again.
Isn't 4.363.012 a little too small number. I think it should be bigger. Then I could say that there isn't any lesson, because it have become a common knowledge.
