Cooking vs Writing

There are so many activities, we try to engage ourselves in, to spend our leisure time. One of the greatest activities, I have explored, is writing, which not only keeps our mind healthy, but also brings about educational growth, which plays a vital role in career building process.

Whereas, some people prefer cooking to any other activities, to keep themselves busy in their free time. I had no idea that cooking is also a very creative job and great art unless I, myself, experienced it. B

Failure Pricks

Through my life experience,I have touched that the passage of day and night or time is capable of healing the horrible impact of so many terrible events encountering us like losing a dear  or fortune or suffering diseases...ect_ but never failure.Collecting my strength, faking satisfaction and thinking that it  would be forgotten  ,I went on to resume my life .But from time to time the old ghost comes from the deep past to disturb my present. I avoid seeing my victorious rivals as I see it moc

Music versus videos

Music versus videos

Today in the morning I suffered from the big cultural shock!! I watched Lady Gaga's latest video clip and didn't believe my eyes! Maybe I am too old, puritan, maybe I was raised in the different way but seriously to watch a video where singer prefers showing their half-naked body and music is there just something like coulisse, it didn't impress me at all. Honestly it made me feel disgusted and I really despise "artists" like this.

Lately I found out that such videoclips are al

Hello Everyone,

This is my participation in Garima's writing challenge, find below the beginning of the story by Garima.

Carrie Allen took a deep breath and sat down on the couch in the drawing room next to Brad, twin brother. She knew their father going to give them a bad news. She glanced at Brad who shook his head. He appeared just as shocked as she was that their father had called them into the room. Their father sat in the chair across from them with a serious look in his face. She didn't want

How to crack the egg right

The title of this blog may give you the thought that I'm a professional in cooking. Unfortunately, it's totally opposite. I hate cooking and definitely I am a bad cook. Sadly, I still have to cook sometimes, for myself or for my parents. And with eggs I can quickly cook some simple dishes. In another word, dishes cooked from eggs are my favourite recipes because they are not complex.

However, I always have problem in cracking open the eggs. The shell of the eggs often shatter into lots of pieces

Writing Prompt: House Vs. Home

Writing Prompt ~ House Vs. Home

Dear Jono,

I want to tell you that I just rented a medium house in the surrounds of Paris, capital of France. At first, it seems to be a comfortable house to live, because the street is quiet and green and has few high buildings, the neighbourhood seems likeable and the house is just painted and has  brand new pieces of furniture. Moreover, I brought my little cat Paavo to liven my home up when I feel it is too silent over here. You know, I like to arrange cheerful

Hello all,

I decided to participate in Garima´s writing challenge. She started the story and it is up to us - "writers" - to complete it..

Here is her beginning of the story :

Something about SARCASM

In EC chatroom, I see many members with great sense of humor and sometimes sense of sarcasm. Today, something comes to my mind so that I feel want to know more about sarcasm. After a short tour around Goolge, I’m surprised with many articles about Sarcasm and  its important role in our modern life.

Sarcasm involves a composer saying something that is the opposite of what they really mean.

For example:

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.

If you find it hard

This is a gift for me from a friend of mine, and with her permission I am blogging it for my friends here to read:

I do love you.............for no reason

Yes still I remember you
And how come a loving killer forgets his beloved victim!
Yes I can't live without you…nor could I never live in you
But I'm the repenting killer…in your love I'm a pilgrim
Forgive me for all what I did do, for all what I dared to do
Forgive me for all what I didn't do, for all what I couldn’t do
Forgive me for what I could do

I've been busy

Over the last 18 months I've been studying for a MA degree and the work involved has kept my visits to the English Club to a minimum.
I still haven't completed the degree, but I am very close to completion.
One day soon I will be able to write blogs more often and possibly even chat in the chat room.

Hello to all my friends; I hope you haven't forgotten about me!

"Colorful Expressions"

"Colorful Expressions"

It’s now black and white that she never loved me. She is gone forever leaving me in blue. I have been in black mood all the time thinking about her. Last time I have had an argument with her, but I was in grey area about what she was up to.

I was looking at her red face.  I would never be a green eyed monster, if she has fallen in love with somebody else.   There would be no one more tickled pink than me if she really likes someone else.  I will pass with flying colors becau

Until recently, things were black and white for me. I was able to differentiate between right and wrong, true and false, good and bad. But within the last couple of years there has been a paradigm shift, unprecedented, in my life. And what used to exist as “stark distinctions” are “blurred lines” now.

The menace is one, but the dimensions are myriad. And they vary from the civil war in Iraq to NaMo's public endorsement, from the  contentious issue of Kashmir to socio-cultural status of women in

This is the third part of my blog series "The Wonderful World Of Backyard Critters". This blog is dedicated to a very polished Pole gentleman, Rysperski. "Rys, I know sometimes I breathed too much of those pit fumes, but it made me more appreciative of these critters. LOL"

Hello everybody.

Direct to the point. Many people say that if you have fun while you are learning, you learn the most. However, many people find the process of learning English difficult, frustrating, and in some cases boring. The point is why not: you go to a class room, revise some grammar rules, rehearse some pronunciation patterns, and fulfill some exercises on grammar and vocabulary. Moreover, people, in several cases, don't have time to go every day for 2 hour to a classroom after a day of

EXTRACT FROM A BOOK: Matilda

. Mr and Mrs Wormwood were two such parents. They had a son called Michael and a daughter called Matilda, and the parents looked upon Matilda in particular as nothing more than a scab. A scab is something you have to put up with until the time comes when you can pick it off and flick it away. Mr and Mrs Wormwood looked forward enormously to the time when they could pick their little daughter off and flick her away, preferably into the next country or even further than that. It's a funny thing ab

I can see the people who wear clothes printed with strange English. I think the people who wear clothes like that don't know the meaning of those words.

Many years ago, I asked my mother to buy a hat. The hat my mother bought had the word "Bitch" printed on it. It is a dirty word, isn`t it? If she had known the meaning of the word "Bitch" she never would have bought it.

23) “Miss”, “Mrs.”, and “Ms. – The focus here is on “Ms.”, which many ESL mistakenly students believe is an abbreviation for “Miss”, the title for an unmarried woman – it's not. Popularized by the feminist movement in the 1970s, “Ms.” is a title that does not indicate whether or not the woman is married – if men can have such a title (“Mr.”), why not women too? Today, all three titles –  “Miss” (unmarried woman), “Mrs.” (married woman) and “Ms.” (undisclosed) – are used in everyday English spee
