Tasty maps!

Henry Hargreaves and Caitlin Levin are two promising artists who have created this fascinating series known as “Food Maps”. According to them, exploring new places through the food you eat is a like a magical portal to the cultural complexities of those very places. These maps are filled with the iconic foods from the country they represent. For instance, tomatoes for Italy, kiwi for New Zealand, spices for India, and noodles for China. If you look closely, you’ll notice that each country is spe

Six months ago, when it was early winter, he began to write a story. He worked on his story day and night. Whenever, he was tired he drank a cup of coffee with milk to reduce fatigue and boost energy.

Sometimes, he was so immersed thinking of his book that he forgot to do things right....One day he forgot to add black pepper and salt in food :( another time, he bought chocolate mousse instead of orange mousse :( and once he couldn’t remember where he had left his glasses :(  He couldn’t see anyth

Proud mom

Yesterday was a big day of my son! As a proud mom I would like to share it here with you, guys. He is six years old and attends the last year of the kindergarten. It was a performance of his class - someting like a mini show with a programme. They have prepared it for months as I know. All the class was singing, dancing, half of the songs were in English! In fact I had no idea he knows such songs because main singer of our family is my three years old daughter. Anyway, everything went smoothly a

Bookish bookmarks

Bookmark2_1024x1024.gif

 Hiya, gang!

I present to you: Lumio; a portable lamp in the shape of a hard-bound book designed by Max Gunawan. Neat, right? In It is a(n)..., one of my previous blogs, I posted some bookshelves designs for those who enjoy reading; and the cathartic smell of a new paper book is like catmint to them. Reading e-books is fun and all, but if you are one of those guys who prefers a real book, then there is something you kinda need— a bookmark! Here are some super cool bookmarks which help you remembe

Evangelina's Writing Challenge

Distinction

People always look for distinction because they think it makes life easier.  In fact life is not always that simple. Who know’s there is something under the surface? Having been hiding and yet waiting for the right time to show up. Let’s take a closer look to image of Yin-Yang, black and white in the same shape and proportion are flowing together in a full cycle. Each color represent the good and bad in this life, well it is called ‘distinction’. Oh wait! There is a black dot inside t

Eva's writing challenge :-p

One of those worst days of your life. Last snow is gone and mud is just everywhere around. Exactly that one day, when nothing is black nor white, everything is just grey. Day, when u wish after waking up, it was still night and you could have slept for ages. During such day everything is blurred, in fact you don't wanna see the reality, so you better pretend to be blind. Your yin and yang aren't in harmony anymore and taste of the orange mousse gets on your nerves. If only it was chocolate mouss

THE TRUE LOVE

The Way of Love

Apostol Paul (a server of God)Said:
13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.

Here is the TRUE LOVE

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not

Evan's writing challenge

He lost his way. He couldn't guess how long he was wandering along those streets which looked familiar to him, in the brightness of the days, in the darkness of the nights, nobody payed attention to him. The white snow on the pavement once he walked on turned into a brown slippery mud.Suddenly and out nowhere he came across his home. Will this nightmare finally end up for him? A tiny ray of hope appeared in the darkest and misterous night he remembered...Silence. A furious quietness was ruling t

writing challenge of Eva

My world has been spinning after hearing it! Now I have no idea about the difference between day and night. All seems same to me. I am in darkness and have a feeling that there is no brightness around me. What is life? Is it about sipping a cup of coffee with proper proportion of milk and sugar. And, what it would be if I forget to put black pepper or salt in my evening broth? What does it actually mean if someone have chocolate mousse instead of orange mousse? See, how many people are in mud, h

Bob is a miner, he worked in that coal mine, day and night for many years. one day he trapped 2,300 feet underground in the pitch black, he tried to reach for the light, but he couldn't. He was sheltering in a rescue tunnel. His friends alerted the emergency services. They are trying to save him through a capsule. Days gone past mud falling through the hole over his head and it was cold and snow. Bob never lost his confidence to see the brightness from the darkness. He missed his favorite drink

Evangelina has just published a writing challenge. The reason she did so may be due to the encouraging comments on her previous blog in which she asked if we were ready for or welcome a writing challenge.

While it seems most of the members think it helpful to take part in a writing challenge, some members may be doubtful about it. They may try to ask this question: what's a writing challenge really for or what's the point?

Tara, the former admin, used to encourage us to write more with her monthl

Unfavorable Numbers

4 and 9 are unfavorable numbers in Japan because 4 suggests death and 9 suggests illness. The reason why these numbers suggest these things is because 4 is read し, which can mean death, as in 死(し), and 9 is read く, which can mean illness, as in 苦(く). There are some Japanese hotels which don't use 4 and 9 for their room numbers.

In addition, the number 7 is favorable. There are words like "lucky seven". What numbers are unfavorable in your country? And what numbers are favorable?

Love in contrast

Eva's

Writing Challenge - Contrasting words,

Love in contrast:

It made no difference between night and day for me since I fell in love with you. You must see that it is my blind love.  Be sure that I am not going to drag your name to mud by publicizing my love.  But the fact is like snow white. On the contrary I find myself unable even to express before you.  There is a burden on my heart. To those who think in black-and-white terms, my love may be either entirely good or entirely bad for you. Whe
