Tasty maps!

Henry Hargreaves and Caitlin Levin are two promising artists who have created this fascinating series known as “Food Maps”. According to them, exploring new places through the food you eat is a like a magical portal to the cultural complexities of those very places. These maps are filled with the iconic foods from the country they represent. For instance, tomatoes for Italy, kiwi for New Zealand, spices for India, and noodles for China. If you look closely, you’ll notice that each country is specifically made up of only one type of food.

USA: Corn

UK: Cookie

Italy: Tomatoes

France: Cheese & Bread

South America: Citruses

Australia: Shrimp

Africa: Bananas & Plantains

China: Noodles

India: Spices

Japan: Seaweed

And the last but not least:

New Zealand: Kiwi Fruit

What's the most iconic food(s) in your country?

  • Dear Adaline,

Ha-ha! Totally. Fish 'n chips, eggs 'n chips, sausage 'n chips, ... 'n chips. Using a leaf as a plate; sounds like fun!

Thanks for your lovely comment and delicious photos, sweetie!

  • I think the most iconic food in my country is ABGUSHT. It means the water of meat, a kind of watery food. ABGUSHT serves in a special bowl, with a delicious drink...2643600790?profile=original
