I am not saying to only read in your L2 language but you should read as much as you can that way. Your L1 is useful for reading newspapers and things in everyday life, but your new language (your L2) for now is English and reading is the easiest and least painful way to learn new words and improve grammar.
Remember that a baby does not go to a language class but hears the words put together every day and by that learns the meanings. By reading you do the same thing except it takes you a little more time usually than a baby. But the baby doesn't have a mind already crowded with concepts and words so can concentrate on language more than we can. Some day I hope to learn Farsi and also Arabic if I live so long. Then you can bet I will spend my days reading in the language that I am trying to learn. :D
Thanks. -Lynne-
This is great!
Good luck!
