  I was named after my father whose name was Beverley -- that used to be a more common name for a man but today it is mostly used for females. There are other people who use the name Bev Anne out there although I don't personally know any at the moment. I just know that often when I try to use my name as a user name for Email addresses or on some websites it has already been taken.

  Please note - my name is Bev Anne -- this is my first name and what my friends call me. On my birth certificate my first names are Beverley Anne but I have used this shortened version all my life. Usually Ben is a boy's name.

  Victoria is even more beautiful than Vancouver and it's also a nicer place to live. Victoria is not as cold in the winter as Denver but spring and summer are definitely better times to visit. Banff is spectacular -- in fact if you drive through the Rocky Mountains from Calgary to Vancouver it is all spectacular.

  Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories. The territories are all in the north where it is very cold most of the time and they are sparsely populated.
  
  In the east we have the maritime provinces Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Of these I have only visited Prince Edward Island which is the smallest province in Canada. It is a beautiful little island with red earth and lots of green trees and plants. They are known for growing potatoes. This province has been made famous by the stories of Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery.
  
  The largest province comes next. It is Quebec where they speak French. Many of the people who live in Quebec are descendants of the French settlers who came to live in Canada in the 17th and 18th centuries.
  
  Ontario is next. The capital city of Canada is Ottawa and it is located in Ontario and so is the largest city -- Toronto. Toronto is the financial and industrial heart of the country. Ontario's southern border contains the Great Lakes which it shares with the United States. These Lakes are huge and many tourists are attracted to their beaches and islands.
  
  The next province is Manitoba and then Saskatchewan. These provinces are known for their wheat and other crops. They are both fairly flat so they are ideal for large farms.
  
  Alberta is next and is known for its oil, its cowboys and the Rocky Mountains. Although there is oil production in other parts of Canada the city of Calgary is known as the "oil capital" and all of the major oil companies of North America have offices there. The cowboys are responsible for raising what many consider the best beef in the world. There are many cattle ranches in Alberta, especially in the south. Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains boasts some of the best skiing in the world and people come from all over the world to ski and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
  
  The last Province, on the west coast is British Columbia where I live now. BC is a beautiful province with spectacular mountains and fertile valleys. I live on an Island off the coast of Canada called Vancouver Island -- the city of Vancouver is not on this Island but on the mainland not far away. Both were named after Captain George Vancouver who was the first European explorer to come to this area. The capital city of British Columbia is Victoria and it is located at the southern tip of Vancouver Island and is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There are large parks and many people have a garden full of flowers in front of their homes. The city also has baskets of flowers hanging from all the lamp posts in the centre of the city. We chose this city to retire in because of its beauty and its relatively mild climate. There are many retired people living here.

  This sounds like a very interesting group. I am a Canadian. My country is the second largest in the world. Russia is larger. However there aren't a lot of people here in Canada and most of us live near the border with the United States.
