Find a Partner

In class your teacher will often say, "Find a partner!". This is because the purpose for learning English is to communicate. Choosing an online partner is a good way to motivate yourself to learn.

Learner partners can:
set learning goals or deadlines together (weekly or monthly)
share links to online resources
peer edit each other's writing
challenge each other to online quizzes and activities
support each other in times of need or frustration

There are many combinations of learning partners that work well. Here are a few examples.

Learning partners can be:
two people who are already friends
two people with the same learning level
an advanced learner and a beginner
two learners who have a common goal (such as TOEIC or business English)
two learners interested in each other's country
two learners from the same country
a small group of people

Post or search the forums to Find a Partner
Look for a learning partner. If you find someone you want to study with you can leave a note here or send this person a private message.

Make a Plan
Use the private chat or message function to discuss learning goals. You might even sign the EnglishClub learning contract. (Or create your own.)

    Hi. I'm Japanese who wants to learn English. I used to stay in Vancouver just for three months, but I've not had enough chance to speak English after returning to Japan. Feel free to give me your comments and I hope i will be able to find a partner and share good time with him/her.

    Hi Everyone, I'm shilpa here....I wanna speak english fluently and confidently.....i'm looking for a dedicated parter to practice the same...So please let me know if anyone there to practice with me..and send me the timings when u will be avilable..we will set up the timings and schedule an exercises sessions.... We can form a grup of 5 to 6 people and practice together...I Hope if we do these exercises definetly one day we will be able to talk fluently... Thank You....

    Hi you all,
    I don't have environment to speak English with a native speaker. I've only learned grammar from class 6. So I am very happy if you all chat with me via skype. By this way we can practice speaking, learn new words and can understand together.
