  • Welcome, Mahmoud!
  • Hi tanya and all friends in the group
i am very happy to be member in this group
  • Rozen! You had better ask natives. I realize what you mean but it doesn't sond as a joke for me. I would say:' You are better than any comparison I can ever think up" but it would sound as a compliment
  • Hi, Dinh! So long no see! Well, Frank has already answered your question about "human being". As to modals in the past, you can read more about that on the discussion "What do you want to know abouy English grammar?", page 1 (should, must, could) and somewhere at the end (would)
  • Why do we must use " human being" instead of " human" in some situation?

We often use the term "human being" to emphasize the idea that humans are complex, or caring or spiritual - these are abstract terms, as opposed to "human" which is often used to describe us as people. It is almost biological or clinical.
Another way to describe it is, We use "human being" as a way to describe humans , but in their special and unique ways that make them different animals.

should / would / could / are conditional words use to describe the possible ... In the past they are accompanied by a past participle if they describe a continuing action in the past:

You should have been looking where you were going!

If I were there, I would have helped (would have been helping ) you.

I could have helped (could have been helping) you, if you had asked me.

    Does that help ?
  • Hi, Arif! Songs and even poems are not the best way to learn English. Not all expressions in the songs are correct. There are special rules for writing English poems. As to songs, there may be wrong stresses because of music rythm. The best way is to listen to podcasts. They come together with scripts. You can find a few links above on this page
  • Hi, Rozen! I can't understand that expression. If you tell me what it means ( I can only guess), I may help you
  • Hi, Dinh! "As far as" is an idiom. It can be used in three cases:

    1) for as great distance as

The river stretched away as far as he could see

    2) for a great enough distance to reach

I decided to walk as far as the village

    3) to the extent that

As far as I am concerned it is no big deal

    Do you need more examples?
  • Hi, Dinesh! Welcome! Please, read what I have written on the top of this page. I will gladly help you, but you should ask more particular questions
  • Hi, Ajmal! Do you mean "to speak Fluent English"? Anyway, the more you practice, the easier it is to speak on the assumption of your writing very good English

Practicing English

Everybody has their own methods to learn English. For the first time, I learn from songs. It is easier for me, cos it is a fun way. I learn vocabularies, grammar and idioms... and also pronounciation. Books gives me a lot of knowledge. The most difficult for me to learn is speaking cos we must have a partner to practice. We can't do it alone. I am a housewife with 3 children, and 2 of them are kids, really so hard to find partner to practice cos of my bussiness taking care of them. My husband…
