  • Hello Adam,
I really appreciate for your answer but I'm not sure that I will be able to think in english when my english vocabulary grow up.You know,It's like you always switch your brain when you speak each languate .I can't integrate them together.I don't know how to solve this problem.

    Keep in touch,
  • Dear Anothai! G.Adam is right, of course but I'd like to add. Having a rich vocabulary is only half-way to fluency. The main is practice, both oral and written. The more you practice, the less you think in native.
  • Dear anothai i think thinking in your own language is sensible
but gradually and according to the grow of your English vocabulary your going to think and express yourself in English
    is that correct dear Tanya
  • Hi Tanya,
Thank for your answer, you're so nice .I think I quite understand what you are trying to tell me.:) I have something that I'm so curious about it.How do I do for speaking english without thinking in my language? You know, everytime I speak english I have to think in my languate first. This take long time and I'm so tired.
    Please advice me some,Tanya

    Thanks a lot,
    Anothai
  • I am sorry but where can we discuss any topics on line?
  • Dear Anothai! I can't tell you how many hours a day you should spend learning English. It depends on your native skills and your business. What I can say is that it is necessary to use a foreign language on the regular basis. Honestly, it is not a principle question how long to exercise. The question is how to do it . I have been teaching for about 25 years and I am sure in what I say. Please, read what I wrote on the top of this page.
  • Dear Jacky! First of all you should say "I can speak but it is hard for me to understand (accept) fluent speech". Well, I know I have already answered this question but I can't find my answer. So, I will tell you again.

The best way is to listen to podcasts that come together with scrips. You should listen the same podcast as many times as you need until you get at least the idea. Then, you should read the text, translate all unknown words and listen audio again and again until it starts sounding like you native speech. It always helps. My students say that it may take them a few days to do with the first task. But, the more they exercise, the less time it takes. You can see a few references to the sites with podcasts above on this page.
  • Hi Tanya,
I need your help,My practising english is damn formless and it's not much developed.I really want to do it in routine so I 'd like to ask you howmuch time do I have to spend for practising in a day and what kind of practising should I do in a day? Please suggest me about it .

    Waitting your answer in thailand
    Anothai
  • hi.Tanya.I'm a VIETNAMESE student.and I'm learning E in my country.I can say but I can't listen well.so with your experient,can u give me an advice or a method?thanks.
  • Hi, Sangeeta! I told you I know almost nothing about India except some of its ancient culture and modern movies. I feel bad about that but am short of time to learn more. The British Council is good but I wonder if they teach TOEFL (it is American exam). However, IELTS is the British test of the same level (category). I sure recommend you to get either of these certificates. It will be very helpful for your making any career in the future.

My best regards on your holiday. Tell us more about it, please

Practicing English

Everybody has their own methods to learn English. For the first time, I learn from songs. It is easier for me, cos it is a fun way. I learn vocabularies, grammar and idioms... and also pronounciation. Books gives me a lot of knowledge. The most difficult for me to learn is speaking cos we must have a partner to practice. We can't do it alone. I am a housewife with 3 children, and 2 of them are kids, really so hard to find partner to practice cos of my bussiness taking care of them. My husband…
