  • hi wendy.. welcome to the anime group.. \(^-^)/
  • Hello Wendy. Welcome to anime group. I like "Latter Bee" too, but I only watch anime..

This is Mandy saying hello to you. LOL

  • Hi, yoh!you are a learner of anime? wow, I just take it for a leisure activity, but I'm glad to share about it:D. What anime you watch recently?
  • hello, everybody!I am a English learner. This is my first day to join a group, I am a new user for MEC. I love to read Japan comic book:), and I read Latter Bee recently. Forgive my poor English.
  • Pooo. That mochi cake would be just another artificial motivation.. There's no logic in such reward. Does running a marathon help somehow to produce mochi cakes? They could at least ask every student to bring ingredients while running, but this way it doesn't make sense.. Okay maybe they could say, that running makes hungry and this is just to replenish...

Isn't that motivation just as artificial, as like breast implants are? In a way teachers are like cosmetic surgeons?

    The mankind is sometime funny.

PS. Cosmetic surgeon actually give some kind of guarantee, and u can sue him/her, when she/he screws up.. and it's usually not forced upon to anybody.. But here, there's no guarantee that mochi cake works.. Maybe I don't even like it. lol
  • here we didn't receive any reward like mochi cake.. so thats why i'm not so eager to do it..
  • Yoh,hi,
Our schoolchildren are also tortured, but it's especially badly in сolleges, even those who has poor health. In colleges and universities it usually lasts for two years .
  • At first, I thought yoh was speaking about marathon in figurative sense... But then I understood, when reading Hardi's and Fizzy's comments... We don't call school running race "marathon"( which is actually 42km195m or 21km 97.5m). But I have found this term in Japanese author article about schools running:

"Recently, my son ran an 800-meter "marathon" at his local elementary school. He received a congratulatory "certificate of achievement" noting his participation and the fact he placed 79th. He has come to dread this annual ritual. It is damaging his fragile self-esteem and emerging identity by blatantly focusing on his physical condition. While students cheer him on at the finish line, inside he is hurting.
Many of my university students have shared in this humiliation — one indicated the marathon was her worst memory of kindergarten! While proponents argue it builds character and is a motivator for improving physical fitness, most educators agree such methods are questionable in their efficacy. Thus, I hope my students, many of whom plan to become teachers, will lobby to abandon this practice."

At school I often came across injustice, but we -school students- had A LOT OF FUN as well! :) I have a lot of good memories, one of them is love ;)
  • thats why i'm no longer watch kaichow wa maid sama.. irritated with the kaichou..

i hate it too - marathon event... the teacher always forced us to do it.. but in the end we didnt run just walk.. lol makes the teacher waiting us till evening..
  • I think we didn't have this kind of sport event, or if we had something like this, then I didn't attend... But I still don't have much good memories of school.. Schools just are such hateful places.. Although there isn't any official school of "mahou", for some reason teachers in real non 2D schools are still mostly all witches.

I'm disappointed of "Kaichou wa Maid-sama". It was so uninteresting today. Why won't that Misaki beat the **ap out of that annoying Usui! It's so boring like this.

Would you like to play the Japanese word game, shiritori? Everyone can participate! The game goes so. First I give a Japanese word with English translation. And the next person will give a new Japanese word with English translation , that start with the previous word's last "kana". Like this: I say word "neko" -> cat then, next person have to say a word that start with ko example koneko -> kitten If u are not familiar with kana, then the list of Japanese syllables (kana) can be found from…
