The spectacular ‘Oasis of the Seas’, a mammoth 1,187ft, $1.2 billion ship, cruised into Southampton earlier this week.

Weighing in at 225,282 tonnes, the gargantuan cruise liner is longer than London’s The Shard is tall, and is 40 per cent larger than any other vessel to have ever docked on British shores.

It can house 5,400 passengers, along with 2,394 crew on its 16 decks - not forgetting the 10,000 square metres of shopping space, 37 bars and over 20 restaurants.

Passengers boarded the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship on the south coast before it set sail for Vigo, Spain and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, later this week. The restaurants and bars are just the start on the enormous ship.

Oasis of the Seas also boasts a 750-seat arena, sued machines, an ice rink, an elevating bar and a high-diving performance area.

It took three years to build in Finland and was launched in 2009.

Another Royal Caribbean ship will also be docking in the UK in the coming months.

The Quantum of the Seas is expected to dock in just over two weeks, before setting off for New York on November 2.

Speaking when Oasis of the Seas docked in Southampton, Dominic Paul, the senior vice president of Royal Caribbean International, said: 'Today is an important milestone in the global expansion of the Royal Caribbean International business.

'We are marking a significant step change in our investment into growth markets around the world.

'The welcome of Oasis of the Seas to Southampton is followed next year by sister ship Allure of the Seas sailing outside the Caribbean for the first time during a summer 2015 season based in Barcelona.

'These investments highlight our commitment to deliver the most innovative and architecturally advanced ships to Europe and are part of our ongoing effort to redefine the cruise sector.

'Our extensive investments into new ships, new technology and new ideas are increasing the appeal of the cruise sector around the world.'

When 22-year-old Australian car-crash victim Ben McMahon woke up from a week-long coma, the only language he could speak was fluent Mandarin. So fluent, in fact, that he is now a popular TV star in China!

The incident took place in early 2012 – Ben was in a terrible car crash in Melbourne that left him battling for his life. While his survival seemed like a miracle, nobody was prepared for the bizarre twist that occurred when he finally regained consciousness a week later – his brain simply decided to switch from English to Mandarin.

“Most of it’s hazy, but when I woke up seeing a Chinese nurse, I thought I was in China,” recalled Ben. “It was like a dream. It was surreal. It was like my brain was in one place but my body was in another. I just started speaking Chinese – they were the first words that left my mouth.”

According to the Asian nurse who was attending to Ben at the time, his first words upon waking up were: “Excuse me nurse, I feel  really sore here.” He apparently said the whole thing in Mandarin. Then, he asked for a piece of paper and a pen and wrote on it in Mandarin script: “I love my mum, I love my dad, I will recover.”

Ben’s doctors and family were stupefied by his affinity for the foreign tongue. Although he had learned Mandarin at school and traveled to Beijing before the accident, he had never really mastered the language. “I wasn’t consciously thinking I was speaking Mandarin, it was what just came out and it was what was most natural to me,” he said. It actually took a couple of days before he remembered to speak English.

His newfound language skills did come at a price – Ben does get tired easily and he needs to sleep more. But a host of opportunities have also opened up for him. He has conducted Chinese tours of his hometown Melbourne, and he’s now hosting a Mandarin TV program called ‘Au My Ga’ that explains Australian culture to Chinese expats.

They’ve really welcomed me with open arms,” said Ben. “There aren’t too many people that studied the Mandarin language at this level. That really gives you a lot of force behind yourself to just keep going and going.” Ben also said that he’s just really glad he survived and that he’s able to speak a second language

Fereidoun Foroughi's testament:

His only testament was this:

« Please write on my tomb: He liked the life But didn't know it He was kind But didn't treat kindly He liked nature But didn't enjoy it There was a motion in his heart's lake But no one could come in He felt lovely in his life But never fell in love And finally write: He liked existing for life Not life for existing »

USE vs. LOVE

While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked up a stone and
scratched lines on the side of the car.In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times not realizing he was using a wrench. When the child saw his father with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back? The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions, sitting in front of that car he looked at the
scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD.
The next day that man committed suicide. . . Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter tohave a beautiful, lovely life & remember this:

Things are to be used and people are to be loved.
The problem in today's world is that people are used while things are loved.
Let's try always to keep this thought in mind:
Things are to be used,People are to be loved.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits

Watch your habits; they become character

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder.
I hope you have a good day no matter what problems you may face.
It's the only day you'll have before it's over.

butterfly & the cocoon

A small crack appeared on a cocoon.A man sat for hours and watched carefullythe struggle of the butterfly to get out ofthat small crack of cocoon. Then the butterfly stopped striving. It seemed that she was exhausted and couldn’t go on trying. The man decided to help the poor creature. He widened the crack by scissors. The butterflycame out of cocoon easily, but her body was tiny and her wings were wrinkled. The ma continued watching the butterfly. He expected to see her wings become expanded to protect her body. But it didn’t happen! As a matter of fact, the butterfly had to crawl on the ground for the rest of her life, for she could never fly.The kind man didn’t realize that God hadarranged the limitation of cocoon andalso the struggle for butterfly to get out of it,so that a certain fluid could be discharged fromher body to enable her to fly afterward.Sometimes struggling is the only thing we need to do.If God had provided us with an easy to live without anydifficulties then we become paralyzed, couldn’t becomestrong and could not fly.Don’t worry, fight with difficulties and be surethat you can prevail over them

A certain man ...

A certain man planted a rose and wanted it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought,: How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?

Sadness by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom…it died.

So it is with many people .within every soul there is a rose .the God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults .many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.

We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.

Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can posses is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.

Great Reading.

Someone has written these beautiful words.

Must read and try to understand the deep meaning of it.
They are like the Ten Commandments to follow in life all the time.

1.
Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel", that directs the right path throughout.

2.
Know why a Car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on

3.
Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write

4.
All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either

5.
Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold

6.
Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end

7.
When GOD solves your problems, you have Faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has Faith in your abilities.

8.
A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"

9.
When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you

10.
WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's Trouble, it takes away today's PEACE
