I have no doubt that if anyone of you delves in his/her memory will find a scene where an elder person narrating a story, a proverb or a song from their country folklore.Folklore is a kind of literature that passes from generation to the other through oral narration .It carries the traditions & norms of its nation .I have a comic short story from my Egyptian folklore that my paternal grandma used to tell us, listen...
Raising his hand above his forehead to avoid the burning sun of the desert & moving his eyes from a wide empty corner of the desert to another looking for a shelter , he realized that he has come to an end.He walked & walked until his legs were unable to carry his tired body when all of a suden , he glanced a shade ."Is this a mirage?"he murmured amazingly. But to cut the suspension short it was not,it was all real.
He finaly reached to the tent & asked its owner to let him rest a little & to give him any thing to squelch his thirst .The old woman who happened to be the owner of this humble tent, warmly welcomed the stranger.Bending on her cane ,she hastened to serve him a huge pot full of fresh milk that the stranger drank in a jiffy while she was jabbering moving from a memory to the other without any link. When he wanted to leave after he had gained his strength he thanked the old woman & said:
_May Allah grant your cow a long life!
_I hope I have a one!
_May Allah grant your camel a long life!
_I hope I have a one!
_May Allah grant your sheep a long life!
_I hope I have a one!
_It must be a goat may Allah grant her a long life!
_I hope I have a one .I am too poor to have any kind of stock.
_Then from where on earth you got the milk I drank?
_Oooh you are really lucky my dog has just given birth & I milked her for you.
_I drrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaank a dooooooog's mmm ilk?
About to vomit ,he angerily kicked the pot away breaking it into pieces.
_Ooooops!!!Have you a heart to break the pot in which I answer the call of nature?!!!
This is the end of our story & maybe the end of this guy also.
