The second book is a grammar book.In this book Various aspects of grammar are discussed.There are parts of speech, Number , Gender, tenses and continuous paragraphs for translation from urdu in to English.This book,usually known as "Grammar",also contains composition items such as stories, letters, essays,applications and dialogues.
There is assigned syllabus for every month which is usually covered and repeated within the prescribed period.
The lesson books or textbooks are same as they are published by government bodies.However the "Grammar" books are different as they are published by private publishers.Then there are helping books or key books for the help of students.Officially these books are not allowed in schools but practically both, students and teachers ,use them because they lessen their hard work and efforts.
Dear Nadira !
It is a small sketch of teaching of English in Pakistan at up to Higher secondary school level.I request you have a critical look at it and suggest some steps to improve it.
Tomorrow I shall,Insha allah,write my method of teaching of English.

Dear Nadira,
I am grateful to you for your appreciation.It encourages me a lot.I think that I am still a student not a teacher.My learning process is going on.
As for as teaching of English in our schools is concerned, Usually there are two books at every level or grade.One is the textbook consisting of a collection of small pieces of writing called lessons.There are 20 to 25 lessons according to the mental level of the students and the objectives of teaching.Mostly these lessons are in prose form.However there are 4 to 8 poems too in these books.
During the teaching , book-reading and Translation method is observed.First ,the teacher reads aloud a sentence,write the meanings of difficult words, translates the sentence into simple English and then in Urdu then he explains the subject matter.The same procedure continues until two or three paragraphs are done.Then two or three students read the taught lesson.It takes 2 to 4 days to complete a lesson.
When a lesson is complete,exercise given at the end of the lesson is done.The exercise consists of questions to check the comprehension of the lesson of the students.Other items of the exercise include true/false,fill in the blanks,completion items,matching items and questions for creative writing.
at the end of the exercise,,the teacher gives the test.(Continue)
