Hi all, This is my first official post.
When i mentioned Sydney, What would be the first thing came to your mind? I thought so, your answer is Opera House. No? anymore?Kangaroo?Olympics?Harbor Bridge? Well, my turn now, Australian accent is the first thing came to my mind. You ask Why? Here is my answer: I grew up in East Asia and Europe throughout my childhood and teenage years.As a result, i came a cross people with diverse background. From Africa to America, Asia to Europe. You name it and i would prove it with my Facebook friends list. With such diversity you would wonder how many languages i can show off to people. I hate to disappoint you, but i can only speak two, probably like many of you here. Anyway, my point is my Worldwide Facebook friends (still growing) and i communicate in English, an American English.(Well,i have to admit few of them speak brilliant British English with posh accent) This is why i find Australian English unique when i first came here. To me, It sounds neither American nor British(maybe to some) but uniquely Australian. To be honest, i quite like the Australian accent. Therefore, i will post more about Australian English and its slang from my next blog.
