The Values added…
“Sam uncle, Sam uncle, please help me.” Sam turned to look at the little boy, stretching out his lunch box to him. It was too tight for the little fingers to open with ease. “Thank You, I am very hungry,”
The boy was happy to see the opened lunch box.
Sam is an employee in a well-established school in our city. He loves his work place and ready to go an extra mile to help out anyone in need. He is a sincere peon who is loved by everyone. I always admire his silent, effective expressions of affinity to people, especially to little children. They call him ‘UNCLE SAM’. Is there anything special that makes him unique? Yes, the world might never know that his extended love to little ones is a secret fountain of his soul.
One day as he was working at the Xerox machine, I casually noticed him and couldn’t resist asking him the reason for his unusual sadness. The reason made me feel a strange helplessness and stretched the mind towards God for help. His wife went for usual medical check-up and had to be operated on immediately to avoid danger to her life. Sam and his wife were shocked to know that ‘their dream and hope, the baby yet to be born’ was life threatening and a challenge to pay the medical bills.
It is said that the little innocent children are angels of GOD. Uncle Sam told them to take help from Tom for some days, as he would not be in school on duty. He collected all possible money he could and decided to save the precious life of his wife and the child.
Great blessings awaited him when he reached the hospital. The mercy of the Divine is awesome and wonderful at times. ‘The still born angel’ was able to gift him only pain yet the living angels of God funded the expenditure of the hospital bills and saved his wife to strengthen his hope in God and a future
Sam is a blessed soul with lots of children calling him UNCLE SAM.
“Uncle Sam, uncle Sam, please stop and turn.” Sam looks back to find a little child stretching the arms, offering the birthday sweets. A graceful smile brightens the child and she reflects the same to Uncle Sam.
