Anyone who get to know me knows that I don't read poems. But, someone posted this cute poem in my timeline page of Facebook and I can't stop laughing when reading it. I don't know who wrote it, but I hope you guys will enjoy it too. I just give the poem a title "An Old Adage"
The poem goes like this:-
Old age is golden, or so I've heard it said,
But Sometimes I wonder, as I crawl into bed,
With my ears in a drawer, my teeth in a cup,
My glasses on the table until I get up.
As sleep dims my vision, I say to myself:
Is there anything else I should lay on the shelf?
The reason I know my youth is all spent?
Is my get-up-and-go has got up and went!
But, in spite of it all, I'm able to grin
And think of the places my getup has been!

Getting old is the only way to live long. And I admire people who keep their wits and sense of humour in their old age.
Yes Inna ... older people who always look back at the years with fondness are to be admired. It meant they really enjoyed their life to the fullest.
You see why I don't like poems, ever. You can never understand anything the first time you read it. It needs to be read, over and over and over and over and over again in order to be understood. It's like reading a Siddish novel for a non-Siddish native speaker. \(*_o)/ ... pffftttt

Well ... being old is inevitable. It's how we accept it .. whether with dignity, or just complaining and whining.
