I've read somewhere people usually read numbers in their mind with their first language.I used this fact to mislead your minds .As you are thinking about numbers in your language you are not able to find an alphabetical logic . :->

You found out the most important point. Think about Sherlock or Hercule poirot. in all cases when all people or even police was thinking about a usual logic of clues they were thinking deeply about other aspects of the case. They were thinking as the criminal was.
Darius the criminal Was thinking about an alphabetical logic but Scotland yard was thinking about a mathematical logic.
Fortunately Ahmed detective was there to unmask Darius the criminal Because he was able to think out of the box.
