    Thank for correcting my message, Tanya. It's really helpful for my skills. But i really don't understand why i can't use "mother tongue" instead of " first language" . I just think that " mother tongue" is the same to "first (native) language", so can you explain more to me? Thanks

    Dear Lov this life! Welcome to EC and to my group! You have posted a very correct message. There is only 2 things I have to correct. They are:

    1. If you want to shorten "because" it is "'cause". It is not principle because we don't have to shorten words in a written form.
    2. "mother tongue" is wrong. You should say: "first (native) language"

Hi dear Tanya, I want you clear for me the possible uses of definite article "the". I always confused me when I have to use this little word. I'd like a list of the all possible cases for this uses so that I don't miss any more the usage of THE. Awaiting for your reply and welcome help and tips.
