This day reminds me of the tragedy which can never be forgotten. Chernobyl.The nuclear power station exploded because it was not ready to be started up. Under Soviets the main idea was to satisfy the demands of the government and nobody thought about aftereffects. That time it didn't work out. That explosion spoiled not only our land but also the most of Europe. About 500 000 people died and our fertile soiles are spoiled for many centuries. Guys, our planet is the only one! It is our home! We should think what we do! I am not against progress, just vice versa. But if we destroy our planet (and we are doing that) we will not have a place to live!

hi,we have only one planet to save even though most of us are not concerned about it because we are selfish and chernoby is an example of selfishness and carelessness you can not win the battle against the nature if one try to do that he will find him self in a receiving end, so we must protect the nature and stop fighting with it .tragedy like chernoby might take place again because same countries in south east Asia do not have the proper facilities to operate nuclear reactors
you're right Tanya in necessary cases nobody can't leave the reactors because of what you mentioned it for getting electricity this gives more than what we need .moreover, give us a little time and effort ,but in my view some governments take disadvantage in other purposes for instance the wars you can imagine anything to make wars.
i heard that from Tv especially national geography this is a horrible disaster and for this reason spread many disease firstly the cancer and destroy body's tissue that's why several people suffer from many these diseases ,overall i believe in union soviet the most country deal with uranium i hope to be the world clear of nuclear weapon
Dear Alhgag! Thanks for replying. Chernobul blew up 25 years ago but we still feel the effect of that explosion. My father and brother died due to cancer not to say about the population of 3 or more countries that were polluted. It was a nuclear reactor, not a bomb. Russia, as well as many other countries, still deals with uranium. Like you, I wish there were no nuclear weapon at all. But we need much energy and nuclear energy is the cheapest. However, electric engineers must follow all rules of maintanance, otherwise, we may have another Chernobul.
I hope people will be less impulsive. I hope they'll think a hundred times before they put their plans into action because the end result of wrong decisions always leave bad effects to the people. -Lynne-
Once I watched TV on the CNN channel and got this information: In our earth to date there are still 1 billion people be hungry and getting a poor life. How could it be, this info really made me shock. Once they can't earn enough money for a normal life, they can do everything without considering its result: forest fire, gold mining, and so on. They don't know that they're destroying our planet. Hungriness and poorness are the main reasons for that, people can do even worst things to get out of these. They couldn't get a good education system, they have to do something under control of some bad persons or organizations. So only when every people in our planet have knowledge about environment protection, our planet will be saved. I think it’s very important thing is we should build and have a good government with the right leadership to get the country out of poor and hungry as well as increase knowledge for every people. It’s so difficult but we should keep believing in such perspective.
