Bargain

Bargain means:

Try to persuade somebody to give you a better price or make an agreement that suits you better.

What is your idea about bargaining when you are visiting another country?

Do you think that is it fair to try to get a low price for an item, or is it better to pay the price the seller wants?

  • I think that depends on the customs of the country! Many countries do not have the "bargainin" custom, and so then you would need to pay what is asked or forget it. But in those countries that do expect you to bargain, they might be insulted if you do not bargain. At the least they might think you are stupid because you would pay too much for the item!
    • Yes, exactly.

It is more common in oriental country because most of the shops are private and who must decide for the price of goods are sellers themselves.
