خانواده سامي يوسف 3 سال پس از تولد وي به انگلستان رفت و در آنجا نوجوانی و جوانی اش را سپری کرد. او که از كودكي به موسیقی علاقه داشت و اولين ملودي خود را در سن 6 سالگي ساخت و  برخي از سازهاي موسيقي را از طريق پدرش كه موسيقيدان و شاعر ماهر و به نامي ميباشد فرا گرفت. در ۱۸ سالگی بهمدرسه موسیقی لندن Royal Academi of Music رفت و در آنجا با تحصیلاتآکادمیک موسیقی آشنا شد.

او تا کنون ۲ آلبوم  به نامهای : ( المعلم ) و (امت من ) را روانه بازار کرده كه المعلم را در سال 2003 و امت من در سال 2005 منتشر شد.

اولین کنسرت موسیقی اش را در مصر برپاکرد که بعد از استقبال وسیع از آن برنامه به کشورهای زیادی از جمله آلمان ترکیه هند و... برای اجرای برنامه دعوت شده ...

او تا به حال با آمیختن موسیقی اصیل شرقی با نواهای کلاسیک غربی و اشعاری که اکثرا در وصف پیامبر اسلام و دین اسلام است مخاطبین بسیاری را جذب کرده . از ویژگی های دیگر کار های او این است که او آثارش را  به زبان هاي مختلف اجرا ميكند. فارسي، عربي، انگليسي، تركي، هندي و اردو از جمله زبانهايي است كه درآلبوم هايش به كار برده است.

Sami Yusuf (born July 1980)^[1] is a British Muslim singer-songwriter. Yusuf's music is comprised mostly of songs relating to Islam and being a Muslim in today's world.^[2] He also deals with many social and humanitarian issues in his music. Presently, he is fast becoming a very popular figure in the Islamic world, having made videos for several of his tracks;^[3] according to The Guardian, he "is perhaps the most famous British Muslim in the world".^[4] In 2006, Time Magazine called him "Islam's biggest rock star".^[5]

Sami Yusuf is a British composer, singer and accomplished musician. He was born in July 1980 into a musical family of Azeri origin, learning to play several instruments at a very young age and demonstrating a keen interest in singing and composing. He studied music at several institutions and with renowned composers andmusicians, including composers from the Royal Academy of Musicin London, one of the world most prestigious music institutions. Inaddition to his education in Western harmonics and composition, Samihas a solid understanding of the Middle Eastern modes (or Maqams), andis thoroughly acquainted and familiar with both Eastern and Westernmusical traditions.

Since 2003, Sami’s debut album 'al-Mu'allim' and his second album 'My Ummah' have sold over five million copies worldwide (with a third album nearing completion). His YouTube videos have been played over 10 million times and his websites havebeen accessed by his many millions of ardent supporters. His concertshave attracted huge audiences across the Middle East, Europe and theUnited States, including a staggering 250,000 attendance in Istanbul.Sami has been featured by Time Magazine and has appeared on the coversof dozens of other mainstream publications around the world.
