A Foreign friend told me that there is no obligation in islam talk about hejab(covering the head for women in islam)He said he heard it from an Islamic lecture claiming that the veil is not mandatory and it is only a custom in the Muslim's communitiesI looked for the Sora which talk about Hijab and it is in Alnoor Soraما جاء في سورة النور : (وَقُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَى جُيُوبِهِنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ)I have read the explanation of this Ayah in Arabic it has a strong onebut i can't translate by myself into English so i need your help please.http://bn-in.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=8913478187&topic=3822this link will help you to see the explanationWajazakom Allh kol Alkhier

Salam dear Rose,that's really pity to know that some pople don't believe that hijab is Allah's order,well there are a lot of proves,one of them the Aya that you gave and t his is the translation "And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms," So dear we see the word (veil)(alkhimar)which is the piece of clothing which the woman has to cover her head with but in the aya said (over their bosoms)wich means their necks and ears too are included,exept their faces.. I know that i did nothing but i ask Allah to guid ur steps sister and guid those poeple:)

And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. My pleasure , *_*
