Hufh, I'm thinking of something like a compulsory military service. Yeah, I hate violence, too. Just thinking that army is to defend country... I have no idea in real...

Dear Onee, I haven't got you, I am sorry. I thought you meant that people temporary lose their ability to hear well. I am not a specialist in the field, but it happened to me when I was in Army. I was deafened by the blast. But if you mean that a person starts hearing sharper it is not the hearing loss. Please, answer this question and I will recoorect.

Btw, I mean threshold. Its range is change for a while. I read on several articles about sound and hearing. Some use "temporary threshold shift" and some use "temporary hearing loss". What I am confused is how to say if I mean the threshold is higher. Example, normally people can hear maximum 80 dB at frequency A Hz, but then he can hear more than 80 dB at frequency A Hz, and this mean he got temporary threshold shift/temporary hearing loss, to higher. I wonder if I can use rise. I'm not sure if I mean intensification.

    Thanks  a lot. :)

Why not to write something for us to correct your mistakes?

  • Teacher Dan and Tanya,

I'd like to write a few sentences to correct.

Hope you will help me. :)

    ------------------

    Increase of temporary threshold shifts
There will be an increase of temporary threshold shift which will be back to normal gradually. This condition will last for several minutes to several hours even up to several weeks after exposure. The higher the intensity and the longer the time exposure are, the greater the hearing threshold value shift is.

    ------------------

The italic words are the words I really doubt. And I wonder if I use the right term, temporary threshold shift of just temporary hearing loss?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Dear Danny,

Wow. English grammar is very complicated.

    Thanks a lot,
