Hi, Cuong. Welcome to Essay Writing.
Here's my comment on your writing:
As the sun reached its peak in the clear blue sky, a herald of good weather, I was sitting on the airplane and looking downward, eager to begin my vacation at Phu Quoc Island, the largest island in Viet Nam. As the pilots began shifting the gears to make a sharp turn to the north, I knew the plane was about to land very soon. Looking down below the airplane, a gigantic triangular island covered with green carpet made by thousands of trees that protruded from the wavy emerald ocean greeted my eyes. Because of Thanks to nice weather, the airplane landed much sooner than I expected. As I jumped out of the big white “metal bird”, the fishy and salty odors just slipped through my nostrils making me feel like I was eating some bony fish at a restaurant on the beach.
After lunch, I decided to go to the beach close to where I stayed. Riding an antique black scooter that I borrowed from my friend along the shore, the heat of the summer noon seemed to penetrate through my dark skin and my head covered by a leafy handmade hat I bought from a small souvenir store. Suddenly, there was a strong wind coming far away from the ocean bringing hot, moist air. I stopped riding my scooter and took a spot under coconut trees that were shaking so rapidly. I quickly grasped a big water bottle from my brand new Tommy Hilfiger pack bag and drained it as hard as I could, believing that it might wet my dry throat before I was badly dehydrated. After a short break, I started moving on and finally got to the beach.
With great excitement, I dashed to the beach like a marathon athlete, making a great leap into the wavy water like a professional diver. The lukewarm water apparently regulated the humid and burning heat within my skinny body and the waves massaged me with their powerful hits. Immersing myself into transparent water, my eyes lit upon a group of avocado and motionless coral reef surrounded by tiny streamlined fish. Sticking my head out of water to take a deep breath, the sounds of high waves clattering on the corrugated and sleek rocks filled the air; up above, white seagulls were swinging around the massive mountains, their quacking sounds echoing in my ears.
After a tiring hour in water, I decided to sunbathe. Trudging out of the water, I found a quiet spot to enjoy the day. With a sigh, I stretched my body out on the sand, the soft pebbles coating my soaked back. A smile on my face, I recalled happy and joyful times with my family in Phu Quoc three years ago. The smile then dropped from my face as a wave of loneliness went through my head. It would have been much more enjoyable and more interesting if I had gone to the beach and sunbathed with my parents. Together, we could have lain on the sand chatting, sharing some hilarious jokes, drinking the freezing cokes and recalling some unforgettable memories we had been through. My pressures from school would have faded way. The peeping alarm of my Casio electric watch abruptly woke me up from my wonderful dream. Looking at my watch, I realized that it was lunchtime. After putting my stuff into my backpack, I fired up the scooter engine, ready to clang down the road. I visited a well-known fish sauce village situated in a wild forest twenty miles to the north to discover their traditional way to produce good fish sauce and to buy it for my family and for myself.
Strolling around, my eyes gazed upon the many jars of fish sauce, searching out the best one. A jar in the corner was already leaking a black greasy liquid; the strongly fishy odor filled my nose to my brain giving me an indescribable feeling. My senses showed me what I wanted. Having spent the whole afternoon looking for fish sauce, I ran my scooter to a seafood restaurant in town, eager to try some fish myself. I didn’t have to wait long before my two pound blue lobster arrived, beautifully arranged on a glass sheen plate. Its greasy orange shell made my mouth water and my stomach grumbled in anticipation. Under the shimmering light of the antique French designed lamp, I dipped my lobster into the special buttery and spicy sauce; one bite had flavors exploding in my mouth, a mixture of sweet and salty.
As darkness fell across the island and the breezy winds shook the tall, thin pine trees along the road making bizarre leaf tornados, I rode the scooter back to my hotel. Shivering and exhausted, I finally unlocked the door to my room and immediately jumped on my bed. As my eyes kept blinking repeatedly, lingering at the window, I saw the beaches and forests and started dreaming of those wonderful memories I had had that day. My life would have never been the same without this day.
What a flawless essay. It's so true to life, I must say. Are you are teacher of English?
Thuy, recently, i am quite busy, so i could not check your comment and your question very often. i think you should give your writing first, and i will comment on it because now i am a bit busy.
as for your task, writing letter to a famous person, i think it is a kind of informal letter. For example, if you write a letter to a famous actor, you can compliment his performance in his films and his characteristics. especially, you should write about one film you like best, and compliment on his performance in the film. eventually, you can write that you wish to meet him one day, emphasizing it by saying that, "it is always my dream"....
