In the last years technology has been changed and also changed people’s life.
Everything is made through computers, emails, and smart phones and nowadays it’s impossible to think in a life without the Internet. Everybody is connected in some way. Email, Facebook, Instagram, and many others type of forms of communications had transformed our main form of communication: personal contact.
It’s easier to say something if you don’t have the other person in front of you to argue, or in the other side of the phone to answer you back. Thus, all theses new forms of virtual communications has changed also the way that people express themselves, allowing somehow being more careless with the person that is going to receive the message. Meetings can be canceled in the last minute just with a text, feedbacks can be given in a public network site, and relationships can be finished by email. Theses are some examples of situations that didn’t happen before, but now with all the technological advancements are happening more and more often.
It’s really common read articles about how people are acting like zombies with their smart phones. In meetings, parties, schools and all kind of social situation it’s possible to find several people isolate in their worlds with their smart phones in theirs hands. Sometimes in the same social group they talk to each other by text message even though they are in the same place.
This generation is losing personal contact more and more and they are becoming virtual persons with virtual life and virtual friends. Seems like having a normal friend gets a lot of work and maintaining a lot of virtual friends is more important for some people whose technology became everything in their life.
In conclusion, technology has an important role in our world, bringing innovations, new possibilities but also brought with it a different way to communicate. A way that transforms the relationships in virtual and not necessarily real.
