    • Well, if it is what I think you have referred to, then it is the memory stick with info on which one inserts into a USB port of a computer. You can call it a 'USB disc', or in my country we refer to it as a 'memory stick'. It is officially known as a 'removable flash memory card' (I think it was initially developed as a card, but with better technology it changed to a USB disc). Haha, you are concerned about your old foreign teacher! Well, I have always been a "night owl" and never an "early bird"! It is very difficult to change that habit when once used to it! I would rather work or stay up late and then sleep later; but don't ask me to go to bed earlier to get up earlier! I only rise early when I have the first class, but fortunately I didn't have any first classes this semester! I'm not so sure that it is not good for one's health - the only reason they say that, I believe, is that they don't think one gets enough sleep; but if you still get sufficient sleep (6 - 8 hours a night), I can't see why it is unhealthy! ;-)

    • You are right, Guo Hongtai, all students have pressure and they don't all use it as an excuse. some work hard because of the pressure. Cheating will always remain dishonest behaviour.

    • That is probably one of the biggest problems with this ugly phenomenon, Men Yaqiong, that students don't regard dishonesty as a bad characteristic any longer. So, it doesn't matter to them whether a person lives a dishonest life, or not; it's the same to them. If they don't change from within (the hearts), this problem would remain forever.

    • I agree with that view, Gina, that a cheater just cheats himself. That boy in the Gaokao exam discovered that, but too late. And as you also rightly mentioned, the cheaters would continue to live that kind of life and always hiding it. We see that example in daily life in our societies nowadays. Maybe you and me don't want this kind of life, but many don't care as they mostly get away with it. I guess we have to live with dishonesty around us; sadly, it won't go away!

    • You are correct in that it is better to be known as an honest person than a cheater, Zheng Chunyu; but the reality is sadly, that not all people think like that. Dishonesty would therefore always be part of our societies. I don't think people that are dishonest would easily change as the punishments for dishonesty is not that severe, and is this not also the example that they get from many of their superiors and from society?!

    • I am not surprised that you said that, Wu Ting. I heard (and even noticed it myself) that our campus isn't immune against cheating. I am embarrassed about that. But on the other hand, show me ONE university or school where they don't cheat ... I think it is that bad. Whether cheating is good or bad ... you don't know?! Well, let me tell you, if there is one person that says that cheating is not bad, then something had gone terribly wrong in society if people start saying bad behaviour is now acceptable. Is that where we are now?! No, not yet (I hope), as too many students said here that cheating is still wrong!

    • You are absolutely correct, Xu Yang, that the cheaters would continue that habit after school and university. Isn't that the reason why there are so many corrupt officials who abuse their power and earn money in illegal ways? Can we then really blame the cheaters if that is the example they get from society? So, cheating will never stop as long as the leaders and superiors are engaged in similar actions; don't you think so?!

    • Yes Liu Weifang, cheating and plagiarism happen in all countries where people live, I guess; but probably more so in America and China as America wants to stay ahead and China wants to get ahead and in the process both do not care how they do it; as long as they succeed! Actually a very sad tale, if you ask me. And as you mentioned, the market even helps the students with gadgets to do cheating without being found out! Maybe severe punishment would help a little; but I don't think that would solve this phenomenon.

    • Luo Yuanyuan, what time do you go to bed?! Is this you normal time to be still awake?! I was under the impression that there is no power (electricity) at the dormitories after 11pm at night - looks like it has changed! Yes, if every student work hard, cheating wouldn't be necessary; but we know what the reality is!
