(2) Music lesson: "If I were a boy" by Beyonce
The grammar focus of this lesson will be on Second Conditional sentences (If I were ... I would ...) and we'll discuss gender issues and what it would be like to be a boy. Unfortunately the MP3 music file is too big (only 7MB allowed here) and we can only listen to the song in class.
(3) Reduce, Recycle, Reuse:
Short discussion on a few more environmental issues. We have already discussed the banning of plastic bags. But would that be sufficient to protect our environment? What about reducing the use of some items, or recycling some used items, or reusing some used items?! This discussion includes a short rap song and it is included here.

The news “love lock ritual may end in Paris” says there is a bridge which is for lovers in Paris express their love by attaching a padlock and throw the key into the River Seine below. But recently some people have signed a petition to put a end to these action. Because the locks are beginning to weigh down the bridge and many locals consider the bridge is eyesore.
I have listened the song “If I were a boy”, it is sung by another singer named Deng Ziqi not by Beyonce. But I like it at once. Now I have listened to the Beyonce , I like it more. It is a beautiful song.
Recent years, the environment around us is worse and worse, it is destroyed by human beings, it is our duty to recover it. Reduce, recycle, reuse are good ways to recover the environment. So we must try our best to do these and if we make our great efforts to do, our environment abd our earth will be better and better.
Wu Qiong, thank you for your comment, but have you read the attachments before commenting? I am not convinced. If you still can't open the attachments, ask Meng Guimiao to explain again to you what to do before you do another comment here. Thank you.
Ke Song, boys would be respected if they earn that respect. Just because they can provide for their families financially isn't reason for respect. Many of those men doing that show no or little respect to women and they are no role models to their children or others in society. Respect needs to be earned.
Btw, please talk to Tony (Meng Guimiao) before you make your next comment on this website ... I will appreciate that. ;-)
Xuanyu, I believe boys would treat their gf's (and later their wives) much better if they get better examples from the men in society they look up to, like the leaders, teachers, fathers and grandfathers. I believe that is where the problem lies ... Btw, I notice that you too haven't read the attachments before commenting ... Am I right?
Wu Meng, have you read the attachments before commenting, or do you have the same problem as mr Ke? Please ask Meng Guimiao to tell you again what to do to open those attachments. Or maybe it doesn't matter to you ...
That's right, Li Kaiyu, relationships (and later the marriage itself) need faith, trust and respect. But do you know what the reality is ...? Those characteristics are often absent in relationships, or, if somehow present in some form, it disappears later ... If I am right, then people may ask, "so why marry then?" Good question. But maybe one should think about this. Maybe one shouldn't marry then ..?! Impossible all Chinese people would shout! Haha, I can hear that! I'm just asking myself if it is really worth the cost to marry just to have a child to please husbands, parents and grandparents ... but apart from the joy of having one's own child, one has a miserable marriage for live? ;-)
Yang Lingling, you said, "The singer want the boys in love can know the girls' grief". Do you mean a girl always experience grief when in a relationship?! Then it can't be a pleasure to be in love! Maybe she meant the boys should be able to feel the hurt they can sometimes cause a woman; and as you mentioned, not taking her for granted. ;-)
Thank you for your performance in the classroom yesterday, Bai Ma. I took notice of your good answer to the question and initially not even looking at your notes. But I noticed that you too haven't read through the lesson material in the attachments. Can you open the attachments? If you can't, Meng Guimiao gave all of you advice about how to do it. So, no excuse!
Shao Shuang, have you read the attachments before commenting? I am not convinced. Maybe you and your classmates should stop visiting the website as I get the feeling I am just wasting the students' precious time.
There are many students that aren't attending class tomorrow; so, another absentee can't be too serious! I hope you have also asked Wang Lei to download the RAP song from the website as I asked you on qq earlier?!
But on a serious note, I think you would understand that I'm not giving you any marks for your comment here as you clearly didn't have a look at the lesson content as you know you won't be attending class. Sorry; but that would only be fair toward those students who did take much trouble to comment properly (and probably read the lesson material). Enjoy your holiday. ;-)
