Everybody would think that, Yasmina Khadra is a man, but what a surprise when i saw that, that, behind that pseudonym hides a man who once was an army officer in Algeria. I believe he lives now in France. From what i read somewhere on the net, Khadra decided to write in french because, unlike her French teacher, his Arabic teacher had discouraged him to go on writting. He also thought it was best seen his military past...I was so attracked by the name of one of his book :"The Swallows of Kabul'and" that i bought it without knowing anything about the writter. What a luck !!! Since then, I bought everyting he wrote. I love his writing style and I am always blown away with Khadra litterature. This books tells us the story about Afghanistan and two couples from different social backgrounds living under the Taliban regime yet discovering that under oppression, the human condition is the same for everyone. If someone read his book, i would be interested to know what you think about. Thanks
