It is very strange Premjit1 I heard that in some part of India, they can pay a small amount of money. It's not compulsory to specify a certain dowry for the bride. The father of the bride is the one who pays for the wedding party. If they do that, the poor will suffer as you said, thanks premjit for your point of view!
