I can't stop myself from putting this question forward. Since I am a believer of statistics, the recent declining pattern of blogging has been bugging me. Although the number of members have been increasing appreciably but that has not been the case with the blogging activity.
The trend
Logically the blogging should also see a comparative rise or at least maintain the same figure as the same period from previous years. For the sake of argument we can say that there are other activities where a member can indulge. My perception is that writing a blog provides a clearer picture of own skills and technique. It makes us get to know ourselves at which level of learning we stand. A blog is the best method of self-expression, it is the best exercise for sharpening your skills and learning/discovering new curves.
Most of the members are somewhat afraid of writing because of making mistakes, which they don't want to be revealed in public. Some underestimate themselves and their ability to write. Some lack inspiration and direction. Some are waiting to conjure up something magical. Newcomers are most of the time hesitant about their first impression. But most are not ready to face their demons!
Although there are blogging activities most notably challenges of various kinds that are engaging as well as knowledgeable. But sometimes they are not properly advertised/promoted.
I suggest that there should be a section about blogs listing challenges, sample writing topics, top rated blogs by the teachers, most useful/helpful blogs, info blogs for new memebers, blogs categories, a monthly competition or something like that.
I ask the same suggestions from you. How can anything be done to make blogging more interesting and appealing?
