Chinese Yuan, American Dollar, Japanese Yen, European Euro, British Pound... What's the name of your monetary unit? What can you buy with one unit? In China, you can buy one bottle of mineral water with 1 Yuan; if you have 1 yuan, you can take a bus [big city 2 yuan or more].

  •          Hi sweety, In Jordan we use Jordanian Dinar.  With one J.D you can buy Falafel sandwich or gum or little bet of sweets or cheese or few loafs of bread or one can of juice or ice cream or a hair barrette or sometimes you can buy some vegetables or fruit with one J.D and you can take a bus only to travel inside your city. That's all sweety, God bless you.

    • Thanks for your nice comment, dear sis sewar!

Thanks for your nice comment and your pic!

Barbi, are all the men in the notes your great leaders?

  • With one US dollar I can get 3.75 Saudi Riyal.

One Riyal is the price for one package of bread (5 pieces of flat bread).

One Riyal will also buy more than 2 liters of 91 octane gasoline (0.46 tom 0.47 for one liter).  People drive big "gas guzzlers" here because the price of fuel is nothing (bottled water is more expensive than gas).

One Riyal is not enough to buy a can of Coke or Pepsi, but you can get 2 cans for 3 SR. So you get the idea, most things are cheap here in Saudi Arabia because transportation costs are so low.  Still it is a shame to see the numbers of large inefficient cars on the road. The big American cars from back before fuel was so expensive are favorites here.

    • (bottled water is more expensive than gas). I am really amazed!

Wow, Mr. Bob, you made me want to visit KSA so much!

      Thanks for your detailed information!
